Two men in 3-4 days; at the age of 69, what is up with 69...? Geez looking ahead, a few years; a decade, maybe 2, is all I know some of us have left. "Seize the Day", seize the moment...

Life: ..... its here today, gone tomorrow. Leave no stone un-turned, no words unspoken, especially those words of endearment...

Rickman was one hell of a fine actor, his performances in many many very good, (some might say great) Movies. Rickman was the epitome of the consummate Villian bad ass guy....and He will be missed.

After refreshing my memory with the 2nd link and IMDB.com, these two roles were some of my favorites....

The Sheriff of Nottingham in (Costner's) Robin Hood: Ever so spiteful a role he played, with perfection. Aren't Sheriff's supposed to be good guys...? lol...

Or the man who Depp exacted his revenge on in the Burton film,
Sweeney Todd, what a showdown b/t both the Barber (Depp) and Judge Turpin, we saw this classic Tim Burton-ized gothic movie on Xmas day 07...a bit unsettling, serving Human Meat Pot Pies....

A shocking loss. Saw him in the West End, London in
"Private Lives", and then again on Broadway in the
same play. Brilliant actor.........wonderful human being.
Great loss in world theater. Cannot believe there will
    not be a villain so entertaining. R I P.

...I'd equate him to a modern day Bruce Dern...typically plays the villain, but always plays the part very well...and very under rated.

Here's a tid bit I was unaware of Dern's ancestry:

His paternal grandfather, George Henry Dern, served as Governor of Utah (1925-1933) and then U.S. Secretary of War (1933-1936).

Speaking of Dern did you know the he was flooded with hate mail & even got a few death threats after killing everyone's hero John Wayne in the movie "The Cowboys"?
