Miami might dumb Chris Andersen’s salary to save $ on the luxury tax. He has only played in 7 games this season.

He would not have a future on our team, or get much playing time this season. However, I can see NO taking on Andersen’s $5 million salary for one season, if the draft pick is high enough. As a side bonus, Andersen might be a decent mentor for our young bigs.

I would take Chandler from Phoenix for their pick.

    Chandler/Morris/pick for Hendo/Kaman/Leonard.

That team has no use for a guy that age, and they desperately want to dump Morris. I'd bail them out on both and give them Meyers, in return we possibly get another high pick.

Here's a list of possible targets:

    Joe Johnson
    Roy Hibbert
    David Lee
    Nene
    Tyson Chandler
    Nikola Pekovic

Most of these aren't long enough or bad enough to have to attach a first round pick. Some of these teams don't even have any assets to give. You might get a first for Chandler and Pekovic, but these contracts actually run pretty long. Don't know if its worth having that much dead weight unless the team believes it can really use them as players.

If you can get a late 1st or an early second for a salary dump you take it and run. Honestly I don't see it happening but there's a chance.

I wonder if Boston would do:

POR: David Lee+one of BOS 2016 first round picks

    SAC: Gerald Henderson

    BOS: Rudy Gay

You mean you wonder if SAC would even consider the idea?

Why do they need to do that? There are much worse contracts in the NBA. I don't see his as that bad even though I not a huge fan of his overall game.

I see Gay as a guy who doesn't fit what Sacramento is wanting to do honestly and at the money he is making (not terrible but two more season after this iirc) they are probably looking to move him, in my proposed trade it leaves them with ~4 mil in cap space so they can go out and get a player who may have been off their radar because of the contract he was on.

I can't do it on ESPN trade machine because their system isn't updated, but.....

    CJ and Leonard to Sac.

    Gay and Rondo to Cleveland.

    Kevin Love to Portland.

Why for Cleveland? Why wouldnt sac just do that trade themselves?

Why would Boogie and Love co-exist? They've been trying to get a dynamic scorer in the backcourt and CJ is that guy. Cleveland could run with a lineup of Rondo/Irving/Gay/LeBron/Thompson. Sac gets rid of Gay/Rondo and their contracts. They get a dynamic young scorer in CJ and another young big in Leonard. I just don't see Love/Boogie co-existing well at all.

Love is 27. He was a star in Minnesota. He hasn't worked out well in Cleveland. He's a legit star player. You think CJ/Leonard is too steep for Love?

Yeah Im not a big Klove fan he just screams good stats bad team guy. Soft mentality, no defense to speak of just goes around stealing rebounds all game and jacking up 3 pointers. its a hard pass from me especially for our second best player.

It was just too complicated and didn't make sense for Cleveland. I think a simple trade for Love would be:

    CLE: Jeff Green, Meyers Leonard

    POR: Kevin Love

    MEM: CJ McCollum

But idk if it's enough to get Love.

And I don't know if I wanna trade CJ

I think it makes a lot of sense for Cleveland. I think Rondo/Irving/Gay/LeBron/Thompson matches up very well with GS. From what I understand, LeBron played some of his best basketball for Miami at power forward next to Bosh.

That's still 4 ball handlers on the floor at once with only one ball. Rondo and LeBron together wouldn't work so well imo.
