I've pretty much seen all I need to from this assclown. He screwed up at the draft when he could have gotten more for Talbot if he wasn't being greedy. Then settled for less. He refused to remove that scrub Glass from this roster after watching AV's idiotic use of him ALL YEAR last season. He didn't communicate with is AHL GM enough about getting some proven, AHL vets to help the kids down there do better. That team freakin sucks. He gave a moronic NTC to Stepan who he overpaid like the GM before him would have. Basically, he's proven to be completely clueless on this job.

Dump, I think sather still had his hands in the till last draft so not blaming gorton for that. Think we have to at least give him the benefit of the doubt andsee what he does at his first trade deadline. If bad, then we hang him. LOL

This is like blaming the new one month President for everything that went on in the previous guy's term and asking why he hasn't fixed everything in the country yet.

I get being patient but this guy looks like he doesn't any f'n clue what he's doing. He has no control over his coach. I understand let a coach do his thing. However, when the coach is clearly fucking up and not putting the best roster out there, it's time to fix the problem. He's lost.

Dont forget the Hagelin trade. I know you hate on hagelin for what he is and what he got paid but still that trade was stupid as he did not do any research on that bum Etem. Then he turns around and trades Etem so he can make a room for a guy who could not even crack crappy pens bottom 6 Megna. He got rid of Stoll so Glass can still play for this assclown coach who benches one of the better players this season in Lindberg.

With the core and top guys not performing I fail to see the obsession with criticizing bottom of the lineup guys. It's unreal that this is the constant focus around here.

I cringe at the first deal this GM will make as I have ZERO confidence in him. Then again, I lost all confidence in Sather after he pissed away a crap load of 1st round picks the last two deals he made which resulted in no titles.

That's not 100% true dump. After he made the deals you liked them. You didn't lose all confidence in him until further down the road when you changed your mind and then didn't like the deals after we didn't win the SC last season...:).

There's also the possibility that AV is happy with the roster. I know for some on this board criticism of AV is beyond reproach but what many fans like myself want - bigger, tougher, more physical players - AV seems to shy away from. I agree about them getting rid of Stoll, can't imagine a move like that would be made without AV's consultation though. No problem with the Hags deal, the Rangers would have let him walk for nothing anyway - getting a first round bust for Hags was worth a shot. Etem showed me nothing more than he was worse than Tanner Glass which is saying something so I have no problem with Gorton moving him. The success of the Rangers falls squarely on the shoulders of the top two lines, anything you get from the 4th line and their 9 minutes of ice time is gravy.

He could've moved Hags in a better deal. Look, the pens traded for him.

Pens would never have offered anything to the Rangers; besides,
we don't know who would have wanted Carl Hagelin.

How do you reconcile this with AV's constant playing of Glass? Bigger, tougher, more physical...that's Glass.

To me he doesnt shy away from types of players, he just gives certain players longer leashes than others. That's my biggest problem with AV.

And as an aside, Glass has been playing much better than he did last year (not saying much). He's still a dumpster fire but he's not the complete liability he had been.

Step, we weren't paying hags so trading him no big deal. They took a chance on Etem that didn't work out but to me that whole deal was made for Ryan Gropp.

I'm talking about McIlrath Prod but if you look at the free agents we signed last year Stoll was the most physical among them despite being the smallest and I'm still scratching my head as to why they got rid of him.

So they could keep Glass. It was one or the other. I preferred Stoll for his PK ability, look at the PK now, and his faceoff ability, but AV preferred Glass.

    Is what it is.

See, that's what upsets me. It is what it is because the coach is an idiot and isn't putting the best team to win on the ice. It shouldn't be what it is, but because AV really doesn't seem to want to bench Glass or put the best team out there, we're stuck watching a B squad.

This is why you need a GM who will actually GM a team. Not care what his coach wants when it comes down to it but does what his vision is. That vision should be a team without that scrub Glass on it.

He should care what the coach wants. If he gets the guys the coach does not want then whats the point of having the coach? Gorton is not the coach of this team, AV is. They have to be on the same page. Neil Smith went out in 94 and traded for the guys Keenan wanted. Keenan hated Mike Gartner and got him traded for the guys he wanted.
