In the article, it talks about his all star chances. Also talks about him being the first player since 2009 (Chris Paul) to have a road game with 30+ points, 10 assists, and 0 turnovers. First blazer since Strickland in '91.

It would be a travesty if he didn't make it. Dudes averaging 25 and 7 on a team that could very well be considered a playoff team by the time the ASG rolls around.

I just really have my doubts that he'll get in. There are so many guards.

We know Kobe and Steph are going to be voted in.

Then you have Westbrook, Klay Thompson, Chris Paul, and James Harden. Honestly, I could see the Warriors having three All-Stars. Curry, Klay, and Draymond. That's not unrealistic. I think Paul is practically picked by default every year. Harden was the MVP, and Westbrook is balling out of his mind this season. I just don't see how Dame is going to get a spot. He's 10th in votes from the fans (fucking stupid.)

    1. Curry
    2. Westbrook
    3. Paul
    4. Klay Thompson
    5. Harden

I think those are your guards, but here's where it gets stupid.

    6. Rajon Rondo (really?)
    7. Manu (who the hell is voting for Manu?)
    8. Iggy
    9. Tony Parker
    10. Dame

Dame is losing to a racist, a geriatric, a guy who isn't even starting, and a guy that is a minute away from retiring.

Kobes considered a frontcourt player. And why the hell would Klay make it over Lillard? I know they're good but they'll get their 2 default all stars.

So: Curry, Westbrook, Harden, Paul, and Lillard are locks among guards, along with Kobe, Green, Durant, Davis, Leonard, and Cousins in the frontcourt. That leaves one spot for Griffin (If healthy) or Klay. That is exactly how it should (and will) go down.

Okay, so the two leaders are Steph and Russ, but I still think Klay is going to get in. The Hawks had like 4-5 All-Stars last year. I would not be surprised in the least if Golden State has 3.

The only player from the top 5 Dame maybe has a chance of keeping out is Thompson and I think even that is unrealistic. I agree that he should be 6th in voting according to this list. Also think CJ with the season he's having could be better than some in the top10.
About Golden-State, I think they deserve having 3 players and I think Steph, Draymond and Kley are probably all worth being there.
Dame didn't start the season exceptionaly so I wouldn't mind him not being an All-Star, I think since coming back from the injury he's certainly in All-Star form and getting a snub usually works well with him, should guarantee him keeping up the pace for the 2nd part of the season.

I doubt that Damian makes it, but I bet LaMarcus does. Doesn't deserve it, but than again, neither does Kobe and you know he's making it.

The fact that the Blazers are even sniffing the playoffs should get him in, but if he's no I don't care and I'm glad he's saying he doesn't. It's not like he'd play a lot of minutes (and we'd get miffed because of that) or plays a game that is well suited for the ME ME ME showcase that is the ASG (tho we probably all wish he'd have an epic game in the ASG).

I do like how he's having a really strong stretch of basketball lately. I still think the team needs a lottery pick, but I've accepted that it won't be a top 4 pick anymore.

I think he meant homophobic, with his comment about Bill Kennedy.

Though, knowing Rondo, it may not be too far-fetched that he said something racist, too.

No Blazer is going to make the ASG via fan voting. No surprise there this year or pretty much ever because our collection of ballot stuffers is smaller then pretty much every other fanbase, so why dwell on it? Like every other season, a Blazer's chance of making the ASG hinges on the coaches & there is no way to follow that until it's revealed... patience!

Flip side, how fair is it that the dominant Spurs may only earn 1 non-starter spot as our beloved but sub-par Blazers?

Yep. Lillard is the 2nd highest scoring PG in the league now.

@KingAlbertoJrSpeed I can't see them leaving Harden off the team. But Anthony Davis should also be on there. So it could be a 3 player race for 2 spots imo if we combine your list with mine. Only 2 of Harden, Dame or Davis is making it. Really I think Klay should probably not make it though.

So there are 12 people that deserve it but one gets left off because Kobe is #13. So Kobe needs to get hurt or one of Klay or Dame is probably out.

I wish I could say I was surprised, but everyone who has replied is focused on the wrong aspect here. Forget about whether or not Dame makes the all-star team. It's his comments about where his head is at that are most significant.

He was stung badly twice last year. One by not making it initially, and two by the backlash to his whining about it. He spent nearly a full year in a funk as a result. I'm thrilled that he's acknowledging it and have no doubt that doing so is playing a role in his vastly improved recent play.

Gotta agree with this and I was thinking Dame was mature enough to eventually figure it out. I get that it takes serious drive and an off the charts ego to make it in the world of sports/entertainment. I get that most of these folks have been pampered divas from an early age and are constantly being told how good they are. But WTF?? Is being an All Star THAT important at the end of the day? This is Dame's 4th year in the league and he is already signed to contracts (including Adidas) that are going to pay him around a quarter of a billion dollars. And that is utterly independent of anything he does on the court in the future. I'd think a stinking All Star slot (and any chump change tied to it) would pale in comparison.....and the bullshit surrounding it would be a pain in the ass. I get that Dame wants to be acknowledged and respected by the fans and his peers. But it sure seems to me that sticking daggers in their hearts on a regular basis as he has a habit of doing is a lot more effective than some no D rat ball game....it sounds like maybe Dame has his priorities straight.....and that whining about things he has no control over is not good leadership....
