Really dude? This is why we can never have nice things. Some of you guys can never appreciate a great thing when you have it. I swear to god some of you guys hate your lives SO much, that you get off to hating on the best thing the blazers have going for them.
Batum has been given a larger role in Charlotte than he had here; same with Barton. Matthews, Aldridge, and Rolo were all more productive with Dame than they have been on their new teams. Money. Lots and lots of money. Except Aldridge, who just wanted to go home.
On this exact team (just trade Dame for Roy), with Stotts coaching, without any injuries ever, I would want Roy. That 2008-09 season was stupefying in its brilliance. And CJ/Roy would be devastating to defenses. On the other hand, if even one of those situations (coach, injuries, team lineup) changes a little, I take Dame. He isn't as efficient as Roy was, but he brings a ton of intangibles that make him really awesome for this team.
Look at Roy's boxscores for that season: http://www.basketball-reference.com/players/r/roybr01/gamelog/2009/ It wasn't even that long ago. I feel like a lot of people either don't remember, or weren't watching then. Roy CONTROLLED that offense. That slow paced, grind it out McMillan offense was the most efficient (either 1st or 2nd) offense in the league despite Nate having not a clue how to draw up plays. And it was pretty much because of Roy; or at least 80% Roy and 20% offensive rebounding.
Tough choice. I hated Roy and really like Dame. But Roy may have been the better player. Except now that Dame is becoming a better distributor (and defender) the gap is closing.
Ummm, your kidding me right? I think you left out some blatant glaring facts. For instance, minutes played. Hw many minutes did WIll actually play with Dame? Everyone on this planet and the moon knows that Nic is in a contract year and is now basically the number one option on his new team. How are you even trying to bring these guys up as any type of reference? Have you not seen his assists lately? Some of the best passing in the NBA!! Come on now.... Bring something with concrete or validity if your going to try to counter.... Want me to find a list of end of benchers that played with CP3, but moved on, got an opportunity and are now playing better, maybe because of that individuals internal growth? More minutes on the court? A team that knows how to utilize a player?
