Never fear. The 16-game stretch between 2/27 and 3/24 will likely net us 12+ losses.

In a highly scientific poll conducted at the coastal dive bar where I watched the game at last night, 4 outta 5 barflies are on board with a major trade if we can con another team into giving up an impact player for Meyers Leonard.....1 outta 5 just want Meyers gone.......

I skimmed and didn't see you mentioned the losing pick if in playoffs thing. So hence the edit. I will say though, that I want the team to win but for me it is not a lose if we get to keep our pick. More win win than lose lose for me.

And 5 outta 5 would have been happy to see him if he'd walked into the bar and picked up their tab. Both for picking up their tab and for not being at the game.

Remember seeing we have the toughest strength of schedule for fringe playoff teams in the West.

We have had the toughest, or we have the toughest remaining schedule? I think I recall that it's the latter, but just wanted clarification.

Jesus H Christ people. Who here who thinks the team should be developing, isn't developing???? We are starting Vonleh for Christs sake!!!!!

Uggh. I stopped 6 pages in, because its just round and round blindness at times.

Its semantics. The team is doing everything pretty much everyone wants. Developing and winning more than expected. YES.. Let them bake. They have been noticeably improving, but like all new young teams they are inconsistent. Its halfway through thier first season. Fuck it. They will never work out because they 35-3 so far.....!!!
man, some people have got to have a little bit more patience than the typical Portland driver ( yes that's an insult)...

If we weren't developing, Kaman, Henderson would be starting.... come on now.......

If that's the case, why is Meyers still on the team?

Did you miss pretty much? ;)

    Your an anomaly.

Actually, Im getting back into the camp of Leonard. He has been shooting slightly better ( we need him to shoot much better VERY quickly) and might be usful in a trade to land a Kevin Love. THen I can take the Jersey I have and carefully rearrange the letters and turn it into a Love jersey(The "N", I would try to use as the "V".)

And why isn't Uncle Cliffy v2 getting some time? :)

Lots of different wants from the everybody here. Not sure they are all being met. Some are at odds with each other over their wants.

Wow! Meyers Leonard for Kevin Love. If we can pull that off that would be a heck of a coup. Perhaps we could throw in Henderson as well so the Cav's could also include LBJ.

On the other hand, I'm not a Love fan and so I'd prefer he went elsewhere. Perhaps we could get a better PF - say, LaMarcus Aldridge?? Cav's get Meyers, Spurs get Love, Blazers get LMA.

    Welcome home LaMarcus!

I think most of us want the team to play hard, try to develop the young players and if we win more than expected, its a bonus. If we don't then we can try to work magic with the draft.

I think those that feel the draft has a better percentage of improving the team still want the Blazers to play hard night in and night out. I think they are smart enough to know that you cant build a winning culture without actively trying from top to bottom, including management and staff.

I think those that think it would be better for us to entertain the FA and trade aspect, also understand the value of a good draft pick.

I think the biggest difference of opinion is how much of an impact... or how much value is placed on the experience that comes from competing for the playoffs and possibly making it.
Depending on the person and their opinion of that value, this is what determines whether the individual thinks it is more important to get the draft pick. These people still don't believe we should actively be losing though, because they understand that actively losing creates a losing atmosphere and even if we land a star in the lottery he wont be happy here because we have been bred to lose.

Look at Sac. They seemed ot have tanked a couple years ago. Got themselves a star and now cant pull themselves out of that losing atmosphere. Its contagious. We dont want it and I think everyone can agree withthat... or almost. :)

    Seriously?
Come one Gramps... time to Blaze to clear that head...
First. I never said trade Leonard for Love and that was a trade scenario. I said use him in a trade..."...he might be useful in a trade..." were my exact words YOU quoted...

Second if you were following along overall, there has been a major trade talk in the forum for Love and yes several used Leonard as PART of the trade.....

As some would say around here, learn the game, then post. :)
