It looked to me like he was trying to shoot a bank shot. Is he trying to add that to his repertoire?

Certainly when a team goes 5.5 minutes without scoring a point coaching is to blame. The Hawks played some great defense for much of the game, but half of Stotts' job is to come up with something to counter the opponent's defense.

One of those "looks like shit in January, mastered by April" things he does every season.

In Stotts defense, he did have to face an upper tier coach.

Sorry bro. The Blazers got outclassed by a better team last night. Simple as that.

Wasn't it Pop who was just talking about how the bank shot is great, but nobody uses it anymore?

John Wooden was a huge proponent of the bank shot. Forced his players to practice it.

I would say we're better than the Hawks at three starting positions: PG, SG, SF. Their PF/C is obviously better than our starting combo, but our backup rotation is a toss-up and easily better than the likes of Splitter, so it's not that huge of an advantage for them in the front court.

The Hawks are clearly the better team. I don't see them as any more talented, though. Our talent just doesn't fit effectively.

It's all about the "Trophy Points" now. Yes i was was around before likes and trophy points. I don't make the rules just live by them.

    Agreed.
On offense the weave is asking for a turnover with all of the hand-offs.
On defense our players refuse to protect the painted area. Instead of forcing opponents further out, they just let them waltz through the lane.
This needs to change. The lack of fundamental positioning, on offense and defense, is on the coaching.

It's unbelievable how much weave the Blazers have run in the past decade. It's embarrassing.
