Now the cat population will explode in China.

You do not believe Chinese restaurants really serve beef, or d0 you? Szechuan beef sounds so much better than Szechuan cat.

A restaurant cooking with opium is so last millennium. Marijuana has a much larger market share.

If Uncle Cliffy can get the Chinese to buy his product, he could solve our trade deficit problem with China.

    According to dvvis, yep.

The word comes from the northern Indian word cheen-ke which when migrated to England became the origin of Cheen-ke food.
Doesn't seem racist to me, I like it (the food). Of course my wife won't let me say it even after I took her to a Cheen-ki restaurant.

Cheen Ke (Ching kerr) means to pick up the tab in Mandarin

Who knows how it meaning changed just over the hill? And then Racist by the time it reached here in the US.
There was a restaurant along the way to my ranch I had in BC, maybe Williams Lake. They had a Cheen-ki sign out for
a few years, then closed down. It wasn't so good, so no loss. Canadian restaurants always seem Canadian regardless of
    who runs them.

There are a lot of words in Mandarin that sound politically incorrect when you can't understand the meaning....the Chinese all say neggah whenever stringing ideas together which bothers Black people when they hear it....sounds just like a derogatory word for Blacks. I've had to explain that to many Black travelers in Asia over the years. Bun ...in Mandarin means stupid so if you're name is Ben and they ask your name, they might giggle when you tell them because it sounds like the word stupid. Linguistics are innocent for the most part.
