Umm. no. Don't make blanket statements.

    In fact, don't make statements.

This is why I would not give a lot to get him. He is not a great defender. Actually it is getting a lot tougher for PF's to be good defenders when they have to defend two different types. They have to be big enough to rebound and defend underneath, and quick enough to defend the perimeter. Maybe we should go to more zone...

Whiteside btw is also extremely over rated. I have seen him look good, but I watch him in person last week vs Cole Aldrich of all people, and Cole looked better. I think we can find someone cheaper.

But I think if we did have a good defender at the 3 and 5, Love would be an asset.

IMO can't make a judgement basis ONE game, here IMO are some fairly "telling" stats on Whiteside

is he worth a max? well, considering he's only eligible for the lowest max on the scale, probably. He leads the league in Blocked shots/game by a huge margin over the next guy. He leads by an even bigger margin in blocked shot percentage. He's 2nd in total rebound rate and 3rd in defensive rebound rate. He's 2nd in defensive box plus/minus, 3rd in defensive rating, and 10th in DRPM. He's 2nd in FG% and 4th in eFG%. He's 15th in winshares/48 yet has a usage rate under 20%.

Statistically, he's a bargain at the lowest max. But there's always a risk with giving a huge contract to somebody who has 'established' his norms in less then 100 games. He's also 1 year older then Lillard. That's not a bad thing though, might even be a good thing

Actually Neil Olshey sort of robbed the Lakers when he acquired Chris Paul

Speaking of that turd of an organization. I will always believe that, over the years, David Stern turned a blind eye to the Lakers manipulation of draft rules and whatever else they could get away with. I don't believe for a second that Charlotte traded Kobe for "center help." He already told the franchise he wouldn't play for them. I think that West secretly gave Paul Gasol to LA because he felt he owed the franchise. F-ck the Lakers and all they stand for. Chop off my ears and boil me in oil, I will believe these facts till the day I die.

Kevin Love would have a lot of potential playing in Stotts system.

I agree with BGD...Love would thrive in Stotts system...my biggest problem is I just don't like Kevin Love

Supposedly Blatt felt like they were either going to fire him, or trade Love, as a big change to jump start the team a bit. Looks like they fired Blatt, so I doubt they trade Love.

The Cavs front office is not famous for making a ton of sense...stack a roster with divas and this is what you get

    2 things:

    1. You can't play CJ, Dame and Love together and be able to survive on defense, no way.

    2. Love doesn't want to play in Portland. He thinks he's hot shit and deserves to play for a contender alongside a big "superstar" - that's why he cried his way out of Minnesota.

Kevin love is not coming to Portland, end of discussion.

I think the point is that we would have to trade CJ for Love. So, if this was even remotely possible, you'd run with a lineup of Dame/Crabbe/Aminu/Love/Plumlee

Hehe, that's like a crippled version of last year's team.
Love is too fragile and moody to bet on, CJ is a baller and a stable human being, that trade sucks.

I didn't say if it was good or bad, I'm just saying that it wouldn't be Dame/CJ/Love as you stated.

I don't think you can know that for sure though, maybe those idiots in Cleveland will think Aminu can be a Draymond Green stopper or something.

I've refereed him since he was a Sophomore and he's always been a class act. I don't know his father personally.

Vonleh is much quicker than Love on defense. A lot of you guys are constantly talking about how bad our defense is. None of those guys should be calling for Love...

We also talk about how unbalanced our offense is. How our two best scorers duplicate one another and somewhat cancel out each other's strengths. How we need another elite scoring threat.

You can't always get what you want, but if you try sometimes, you just might find you get what you need.
