I believe you, but where exactly did you see that data? And does it measure only when he shoots, or also when he gets the ball and doesn't shoot it because he is covered? My point was that he spreads the floor ......even when he doesn't shoot. And my eyes tells me he passes out of it more than he shoots it because he is well covered.

No it doesnt actually. Either we have a very good 3 point shooter shooting wide open 3s or we have their big man covering him on the perimeter, leaving the lane wide open. That's pretty impactful.

He has definitely been left open intentionally quite a bit. I've seen players see him catch the ball at the three point line and then run away from him to guard another player. It's a pretty stupid thing for them to do, since shooting wide open shots is literally the only thing Meyers is any good at, but I've for sure seen it happen.

Actually, I believe what that data says is that Meyers ONLY shoots when he's open. The eye test confirms it. Defenses close out on him pretty quick - they'll sag off, but once he receives the ball the defense is generally quite quick to get a hand in his face. On the rare occasion where they don't close out quick enough Meyers will shoot.

My Atlanta game analysis suggests that if Meyers had started, shot an additional 5 (in the game) swish3s, and had an additional 10 min in the game, the Blazers might have won the game. Out of 11 swish3 attempts, his average predicts at least 4 successes, and that would have been enough to get the Blazers to 104. Meyers was playing effective defense and getting rebounds. What the Blazers should not count on is players who are low percentage swish3 shooters (Vonleh, Frazier, or Harkless) taking them.

Aiming to score perhaps 12 swish3s per game using the highest percentage shooters and working the ball to get the open looks from favorite spots might have allowed the win over Atlanta. The Blazers do better with a total offense of >100. Let's see if the strategy allowing 32 or more swish3 attempts (maybe 5-6 of them made by Meyers) as open shots in the LA and following games can lead to 6 home game wins coming up.

Chandler yanked down 27 rebounds tonight. What are the chances Phoenix would like to divest themselves of his huge contract for a young 7-foot prospect with a decent 3-point shot...?

How many "swish3's" did he make tonight. I sure do love it when he makes a swish3 ...

Swish3 has to be MyLo's mother or close relative.

Leonard showed his inside game. Half of the passes setting him up came from Steve Blake or Afflalo, so maybe their not being here now hurts him. And at 1:45 Leonard puts one in over Plumlee.

Thanks for the clip, jlprk! These are some great swish3s, cuts, and dunks for Meyers. The passes from Steve and Afflalo did help a lot.

My question is, where are the set up passes to Meyers this year? Wouldn't it be great if there were some similar plays set up this year with CJ, Dame, Allen, and Ed feeding Meyers as the inside and outside offensive weapon that he can be?

Not many swish3's last night. He had a couple clank0's and at least one backiron0. I saw that he had a dunk2 though. My favorite play was the catchpass with the swish3fakepump to the dribbletwice to the brickmidrange2.
