Who's your favorite random NBA player of all-time? You know what I'm talking about. A random guy that was good in college and never made it, bounced around from team to team, and you would always seem to catch a glimpse of him at one point or another. Mine had to be Bill Curley, he's from my hometown in Mass, he then went to boston college where he was an absolute stud. Infact he was on the boston college team that upset the stacked UNC team (stackhouse, sheed, montross, jeff mcinnis) in the sweet 16 in 1994. He was selected 22nd overall. He blew out his knee after his rookie year and never recovered. He bounced around from Minny, Houston, Golden State, and Dallas. Never amounted to anything. He's a huge goofball too which is funny.
Anthony Parker (very underrated, last year's Euroleague MVP)Matt Barnes (should be most improved this year)Jerome Williams (love his hustle and dedication)
Reggie Lewis (never made it as big as he could have for obvious reasons)Dee BrownWalter McCartyBrian Scalabrine (lol the guys a tank..The Veal...Pink Power)
I used to like Eddy Curry alot abd I followed him alot too, but lately I havent cause I hate the knicks, but hes doing well.
<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE (Pacers fan forever @ Jan 4 2007, 08:53 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}></div><div class='quotemain'>Jim Jackson (did have a couple of 20 ppg seasons though)</div>also I have to add Anthony Johnson
I liked Devean George as weel, but that's only because he was vastly overrated in video games. When Kobe sat out, George made it look like Kobe wasn't even on the bench.I also like Ruben Boumtj?-Boumtj?. Purely just because of the name. I have no idea where he is though. He used to play for the Cavs.
Jake Voskhul and Khalid Elamin. Both because they were on the UConn team in 99 than won it all. Khalid was only in the league for little time I think, but right now he is playing in Europe. ESPN (or SI) had a great article about him a while back.
Arvydas Sabonis in my mind was my favorite player, lol it was incredible seeing this out of shape player shoot the mid range and pass the ball.
Brian Skinner. The guy's a freaking bull for the Bucks and plays tough...He used to be on the team and now he's back and all Bucks fans are really happy.
<span style="font-family:Comic Sans MS">Mikki Moore, I suppose. He has the tendency to be an underacheiver at times, but when he plays to his full potential, he does great. Also, I'll add Jim Jackson because I loved seeing the guy shoot. He just seems like a better shooter than people give him credit for.</span>
Tierre Brown- I don't understand why I like this kid so much, I have been a fan of his since 2004 when he played decent minutes for the Lakers. I like his ability to take the ball inside and hit the occasional jump shot. He has been tearing up the D-League in recent years.Jeff Foster- How do you not love Fosters hustle and rebounding ability? Foster is a good post defender and he rebounds the ball on the offensive glass very well. He already has a pair of 18 rebound games this season.Kevin Ollie- Watching most Sixers games over the years I have learned to appreciate Kevin Ollie's game. He's not going to drop a huge amount of points on you but he's capable of being an NBA starter. He's a good defensive player and he runs the offense very well.Greg Buckner- I loved G-Buck during his time with Denver, His defense is extremely underrated. I hope you Mavericks fans are loving him the way that I did.Marcus Vinicius- I would like to see him gain more playing time. He's a great offensive player, he has a lot of moves in his arsenal. His all-around offensive game is so smooth, He can pass, dribble, shoot, post up, play multiple positions. Obviously his downfall is his weak defense, He's lazy on D. It's that simple.
Eric Williams"E!" I have always been a big fan of E. He always got the job done for the Celtics, and he was a HUGE part of what the Celtics did defensively a few years ago. He always brought the hustle and the hard work, but he also was a class act and a guy that hit some big shots for us (especially his signature 15 footer from the side).Eric SnowHe is a pure leader, a floor general, and a guy that ANY coach would love to have on his team. He always knew how to run an offense, he plays under so much control it's not even funny, he has always played tough defense, he is a very classy guy, a veteran leader that any point guard would love to learn from, and he really knows the game. He's the type of guy that could be a really good coach, if he decides to.Brian GrantHe was always a true competitor and a guy that always gave 110% on any given night, hurt or not. He was a great rebounder, very strong, and tough blue collar type of guy.Jeff FosterOne of the best rebounders in the NBA, no question, and he has always been one of the most underrated centers. He is one of the toughest guys around, he does all the dirty work, he's a great rebounder, and he's a hustler.I have about 10 more, but I won't list them all. But, since the thread does in fact say player (not players), I'll pick Eric Snow.
