Hypothetical: What is the most you would give up for Cousins?

I think you are dead on. After watching guys like Bosh and LMA leave their teams high and dry, if I'm running Sactown I'd get on the horn and liquidate him ASAP.

(I wish we'd sold high on Aldridge now. Imagine where we'd be now if we'd started the rebuild a year earlier, trading LMA to a contender. Think Cleveland would rather have him than Love? I know I'd prefer Wiggins to the giant empty hole where Aldridge used to be. Add in what we could have netted for Matthews and Batum, and it's painful to think about. I'm not mad, though. It's a hindsight 20/20 thing. The difference for Sactown is that they aren't a fringe contending team now and aren't going to be like we were. It's much easier to see in this case.)

That said, I'd roll the dice on trading CJ and pieces for him. Lillard and Cousins are perfect compliments in every way: size, position, defensive capability, personality....Cousins is the guy who punishes your front court all game, and then in the last 5 minutes it's Lillard time and all the defensive rotations are a touch slower.

CJ is perfect for Sactown too--a squeaky clean young guy you can build a franchise around and pair with a pass-first defensive PG. Rondo is a better fit at PG for CJ than Lillard in many ways. Sacramento probably doesn't win any more games with CJ, but the games are more watchable and likable.

It's one of those trades that makes so much sense for both teams.

Heard from where? From a bunch of butt-hurt fifteen year old girls who are mad because they had to go out and buy all new pee-chees because they had been doodling "I Heart LMA" all over them for nine years?

Realistically, we are not getting DOC though. We dont have anything to really give to get him compared to other teams.

In a 58 minute 1 point loss, DMC was +15 in 46 minutes. According to my rudimentary arithmetic, that means that Charlotte outscored Sacramento by 16 points in the 12 minutes that DMC wasn't playing. He fouled out three Charlotte PFs before eventually fouling out himself.

You can't pin last night's loss on him.

There have been a number of articles detailing the environment in the organization surrounding Aldridge. There have been articles about his relationship with Lillard. You can choose to ignore them if you like, but he checked out on us in the playoffs, and even CJ said that he suspected he would leave after flying back on his own instead of with the team.

Boogie would be a needle mover in Portland...we'd be fools to pass on him if he were available.

It would cost us CJ, Mason, and Crabbe. Getting Cousins is great until you have to trade the good players off your team to do it.

I would do CJ or I would do Crabbe, but I would not do both. Similarly, I would do Plumlee or I would do Davis, but I would not do both.

This is why I think it won't happen; the Kings aren't going to let him go for one or the other plus considerations; they're going to want a couple of our best players.

Well, if you did something like CJ/Plumlee/Leonard for Cousins/Bellinelli/Collison, they get three young guys who are all 25 or younger. They can start at least two out of those three players immediately. That's not a bad haul for Cousins. We get the boost that we need to make the playoffs and maybe even get to the 6th spot.

    Dame/Collison
    Crabbe/Bellinelli
    Aminu/Harkless
    Cousins/Vonleh
    Davis/Kaman
