Also when they're injured. And as long as we're guessing what will happen in the future based on what happens this year, you might as well calculate the odds of Lillard having a career ending injury by carrying a heavy load in a playoff loss. Sort of like how all that playoff experience the past two years made us so much better when the whole team departed in free agency? I don't put a whole lot of faith in suggested outcomes.
He played great tonight in AZ. If the Ducks can get Brooks back, get the extra year for Boucher (Which they think they have a realistic shot at) to to along with Dorsey, Bell, Benson and their three top recruits, and maybe a another JC star......they could be pretty good next year. The issue with Brooks is he is 6'6" in shoes. He really needs to be lights out from deep to go along with the rest of his game. He will not be able to attack the basket in the NBA like he does in college. Hopefuly he know that and stays. As I recall he reclassified to get into Oregon, so he is young for a sophomore. He needs another year.
As much as the experience of making the play-offs would be an achievement, and great experience for this young group - missing out on crucial building assests, like the draft pick, would be too much of a price to pay.
http://www.usatoday.com/story/sport...lum-lamarcus-aldridge-trail-blazers/79632986/ I'm all for getting the lotto pick in all honesty, but the pick vs playoff debate is not black and white. There are key things that Dame talks of in this article that we have to give consideration to as well.
