After being snubbed as an Allstar starter, Jimmy Butler will make his second consecutive trip to the Allstar weekend as a reserve for the Allstar game. Butler is putting up career-highs across the board as he’s averaging 22.3 points per game, 5.3 rebounds per game, and 4.2 assists per game for the Chicago Bulls. Butler as an all star is a no-brainer. He's arguably the best SG in the eastern Conference. Real deal. I understand that Gasol was a little miffed by being passed over for a reserve spot, but it seemed like it was between him, Bosh and Horford. While Gasol had a case, Bosh is certainly a deserving selection.
Since January Jimmy has been the best in the NBA at his position. He's arguably been playing at superstar level for the last 6 weeks or so. Agree that it was a no-brainer.
Well deserved. Best value draft pick of all time for the Bulls? EDIT: Looking back, Clifford Ray and Stormin Norm were both 3rd rounders, so perhaps not.
Ray was a great pick, but the Bulls shouldn't get credit for making a great pick with Van Lier since they immediately made one of their dumbest trades ever, dealing Van Lier and Dave Newmark to the Cincinnati Royals for the great Walt Wesley. They were fortunate to be able to get Van Lier back HOWEVER, this is "stepping on the lead." I can't believe that you of all people would miss the obvious best value draft pick in Bulls history Selected by the Chicago Bulls in the second round of the 1990 NBA draft.
