<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE (RaptorFan#1 @ Jan 4 2007, 11:42 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}></div><div class='quotemain'>You guys blow everything out of proportion. For global warming to take serious lifethreatening actions (like seen in The Day After Tommorow) a meteor would have to hit the Earth. Everything happens in very little increments. Global Warming if were to happen and we supposedly enter a new ice age, would take over 200 years to happen. Just so you know, the Earth's average temperature was just lowered by 1 degrees Celsius over the past years. For us to go into an ice age would take way more "than around the corner". But a valid point would have to say that we are depleting the Earth's resources. Espicially oil, natural gas, those non-renewable resources. But then again, we are learning to use solar energy, it wont be long before we develop another way to use other renewable sources of energy. But seriously Tony, the world is not ending in your lifetime, in your kids, or the next generation.</div> Thank god we have a 15 year old Canadian World expert. :worthy:

2007 PREDICTED TO BE WORLD'S WARMEST YEAR<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE </div><div class='quotemain'>They say this will cause melting at the polar ice caps, sea levels to rise and weather patterns to change bringing floods, famines and violent storms, putting millions of lives at risk.Former World Bank chief economist Nicholas Stern said in October that urgent action on global warming was vital and that delay would multiply the cost by up to 20 times. The Kyoto Protocol is the only global action plan to curb carbon emissions, but it expires in 2012, is rejected by the world's biggest polluter -- the United States -- and does not bind booming economies like China and India. The Met Office said the established moderate El Nino, a phenomenon in the tropical Pacific blamed for disrupting weather patterns, would continue for the first few months of 2007. It noted that as there was a time lag between El Nino and its full effect on surface temperatures, its influence would therefore be felt well into the year.It will coincide with what environmentalists say will be a very busy year for climate diplomacy.Germany, which has an active climate change agenda, has taken over the six-month rotating presidency of the European Union and the year-long presidency of the Group of Eight industrialized nations.Backed by Britain, which has pushed climate change high up the world agenda, pressure is building for the G8 summit in Germany in early June to set out a framework for discussions to take global action beyond Kyoto.</div>SourceSo apparently it's supposed to get colder from now on... eek.

<span style="font-family:Comic Sans MS">Eh... I don't like thinking about such nonsense. I actually read the entire post by ReppinTheD. I was once Muslim.. I am now Atheist. Reading D's post about the "signs of the world's end" had me reminiscing of my past as a Muslim. I'm not sure how accurate anything is anymore..</span>
