Seems to me like this year, there are way, waaaaaaaaaaaaay more candidates for this award than I ever remember in the past. Monta EllisLeoandro BarbosaMatt BarnesAl JeffersonKevin MartinCarlos BoozerLuke WaltonDeron WilliamsTJ FordJarrett JackHakim WarrickAndris BiedrinsDavid LeeIMO you could make a good case for all of these guys to be the most improved player, but I personally think Andris Biedrins or Monta Ellis should win it. It's a very tough decision for me between those two, but I think I'd lean towards Ellis, because in Golden State's offense, Biedrins can get a lot of easy, easy buckets, which is why his FG% is very high, but either way, there are many, many good candidates at this point in the season to win this award.
I think it's Kevin Martin. He has a very nice shot, and he can drive very well too. He's not a headcase, and he plays hard most of the time. I'm pretty sure he's averaging over 20 ppg still (havnt checked in a while), whereas last year he was averaging like 10-12....He's a 3rd or 4th year veteran too.. Monta Ellis is a second year player, so he doesn't have as great of a chance of winning it.
Monta Ellis, JR Smith, and Kevin Martin stand out the most.Leonardo Barbosa and Deron Williams come next. The rest of the players come last.
Kevin Martin came from nowhere... he's played really well. He's a top candidate. Andres Biendrins too, I never expected what he's doing for his team.Too bad Bynum had to be benched when he was doing well, he was having a good season and filling his role better than expected. Well he's got a starting spot now and I hope he can do what he did when he was starting before.
Does anyone realize that David Lee is getting 11/11 a game? I was stunned when I saw that statistic last night..

Who else in NYK is going to rebound? If Lee plays enough minutes the points will come naturaly.

You cant say he gets 11 rebounds a game because he plays for a sh*tty team. He has improved, he has a good work ethic, he's a hustle player, and he's a guy you want on your team.
its either Ellis or Martin...which ever team has the better record or which gets into the playoffs will win it.

I really like Lee. All I'm saying is that he's not the most improved player. I know that's probably not what you meant but I just wanted to establish their are more impressive numbers and players. But I really like Lee, don't get me wrong.
You guys are all wrong. It's gonna be Matt Barnes. No doubt in my mind. He has had like five 30 point games this year. He always got bounced around from team to team and I think he fits well with G state.
Kevin Martin no doubt...ever sicne that 1 crazy game he had last year..you knew that kid was gonna be a starmaybe not a superstar but he can be a leader for years to come...I mean he was pretty much a bench player for most of last year and the year beforenow he's the star of the team in top 20 in the NBA in scoringit's still too early to tell..the ones who finish in the second half strong will be in the running at the end
Matt Barnes has had 3 games so far this year with about 35points 12rebounds and 5 assists. He should win MIP
I'm a bandwagon Jazz fan, and Deron Williams has really stepped up this year. He and Boozer are doing great together. I'd give it to Williams
