When he was on the Clippers he only had one year where they made the playoffs. They were 47-35, 6th seed but took the Suns to 7 games in the second round (played the 44-38 Nuggets in the first round who were the third seed by division rule I guess). I wouldn't say they were terrific outside of one season and that was only because of playoff success.
I agree and this is actually the most interesting CJ trade idea you could come up with. I think Okafor is a legitimate future Hall-Of-Fame prospect. But then again so many are, and not everybody gets there.
They had numerous injuries, no? That franchise was cursed. Brand did have 8 straight seasons with a PER over 20 and 2+ blocks/game on defense. Chandler was traded for PJ Brown. And later by the Mavs for 2 second round picks.
Chandler for PJ Brown may be the worst trade ever. I also believe it was a S&T when the Mavs dealt him, idk why the Mavs ever let him go in the first place... He was the #2 reason why they won a title. He did however win a DPOY in New York.
I said it was Sac that was the really good team. It was Brad Miller, another ex Bull, I was thinking of. Chandler simply is a one dimensional player, who is nowhere near the best at any nba skill. The Bulls had seen enough of Chandler. He just wasn't very good. The coach played Antonio Davis over him.

Compared to CJ it sure is this year. And in the future it is certainly debatable. Okafor grades out as worst big man defender in the league. You can't win if you give up more points per minute than you score which is where he is currently.
How about the real question being... if the Blazers are able to continue at a place that lands them in the playoffs, after being expected to be a bottom 5 team, coupled with nearly $40mill in cap space, would they become and interesting destination for upper level free agents? Especially when you factor the age of the core and the fact that the bulk of it is under contract for the next season already.
This is the hope right? Best case scenario. Internal young talent develops and attracts one good free agent who puts them over the top. Normally I would be discouraged by Portland's record of attracting big free agents. But, I think Olshey levels the playing field a bit. He might be able to get it done.
Im going to go on a limb here and point out that the Blazers likely aren't in the playoff hunt without CJ's leap in development.
Wouldn't trade cj for ben Simmons? Lol ok. I would. Easy. I'll take the risk of a prospect with his potential over CJ, because there's only one or two players in the league like him if he pans out. There are plenty of CJs
Ben Simmons looks like he will be an incredible NBA talent. Assuming he has an outside shot. Without it he will just be average. I keep reading that there are plenty of CJ's out there, but when I think about how many we have had in the last 10 years, the list is pretty short IMO. Having said that....... Simmons would be hard to pass up. Although it is a moot point because no shitty team is going to pass on him. (i.e Philly or the Lakers)
Seriously doubt he's a "legitimate future Hall-Of-Fame prospect," he's definitely got great touch, good, skilled, beyond his years, & polished on the offensive end but defense... don't know if he'll ever have the motor/desire to b a do it all kind of a big man. You want to talk unquestioned "Hall-Of-Fame prospect... (guy's flat out a Hall Of Famer)" Karl Anthony Towns; he's THE man now & he's just a rookie/kid right NOW; this guy's got exceptional court-vision, decision-making, great attitude/patience, & skills already not to mention he's being mentored by KG (which I hate BUT respect...).
