Oakland Athletics catcher Stephen Vogt underwent successful arthroscopic surgery on his right elbow, according to a press release from the club. Vogt is expected to recover in four to six weeks, which would put his initial start of activity between the end of February and the middle of March. The club says he is fully expected to be ready by Opening Day.

Dr. Jon Dickinson performed the procedure at the Presidio Surgical Center. Dr. Dickinson performed a debridement of the elbow joint and removed a bone chip. A "debridement" is simply the removal of dead or damaged tissue to improve the ability of a wound to heal.
