I would be very much in favor of keeping Hendo. I think he will be had for 5/6 mil a season which is a good value. Good vets are important to a young team, and he's pretty young still.

To me, he's a good fit and won't break the bank

He's already making 6 million this season. With the cap booming in the summer, it's hard to imagine him staying at that salary or even taking a pay cut.

If he gets more years, he might take the pay cut for job security

I see no reason to trade Henderson. He fits the team well, gives us depth and he's a better slasher than Crabbe (one of the best on the team imo). The kind of guy we needed last year. The kind of guy that's a missing piece that we always seem to need when we're good. It's not a given he'll bail. We can re-sign him. I like his game, and what he brings to the table. I hope he stays with the team and becomes a sixth man of the year type.

People praise the Spurs for their success but Pop has taken vets that weren't having success and made them champions..Boris Diaw...nobody saw him as a guy who would thrive when he was in Charlotte.....now David West...another guy playing for a big paycut...then you have Duncan taking a big paycut to keep his teammates on the roster..specifically Parker and Ginobli....so Neil Olshey brings in a vet like Henderson and it's actually a very Popovich type acquisition..solid bench player that fits the system..I think it was a good move

Oh ,Crabbe? He is getting at least 12M for sure in this market (if he stays healthy and doesn't drop).
I'm worried he might even gonna get a max offer...

I didn't even think about crabbe's low cap hold. That's actually concerning. A team might make him a big offer right out of the gate to take a chunk of our cap space off the table. Similar to what Dallas did with chandler parsons when Houston was chasing bosh.

I can't see any way in this market with the amount of cap space available for so many teams that Hendo doesn't get a bigger offer than that. It's just the reality of the new salary cap. The difference between SA getting players to play cheap and where Portland is reflects how much closer they are to a Title.

Fortunately, we have the moratorium. If NO can get in and hit free agency hard, he can hopefully get a commitment from some free agents before any deal Crabbe might sign would have any impact on us.

Speaking of Chandler Parsons, what do you guys think about trying to sign him? He's a UFA this summer, and I actually think he'd be a really solid pickup. Not a Durant, but certainly a quality starter.

I guess you could do worse then he. I not thrilled with him at the new Super MAX but lots of people who are going to get MAX shouldn't....

He's a smart player, he can shoot, and he fills up the box score. He started out slow this season because he was coming off a knee surgery, but he has picked it up in a big way of late.

    Last 10 games - 20.8 ppg, 7 rebounds, 2.5 assists and he's shooting 52% from the field.

I know, it is just the Super MAX should be for true All-Stars. Has he been one yet? I don't think he has. I don't see him as one in the next 3 years outside of possible injury replacement.

I will say this, I would take him over DeRozan even though outside of D I think DeRozon has better numbers....

I like Hendo, but do we really want to tie up $30 million in salary between Crabbe, Meyers, and Hendo?

This season has been a blast but the light at the end of the tunnel is all of the flexibility Neil has to work with this summer in terms of salary cap space. If we essentially stay pat, that's how this team gets stuck in mediocrity. Keep Crabbe. Look to move Meyers and Hendo for future assets and free up more space for the summer.

I agree, but we need more talent and because of who we are and where we are, we will have to overpay for mid-tier talent. We aren't getting Durant, but someone like Parsons would be a very solid addition.

Yes to Parsons. He's a good player and an upgrade over what we have. He'd be our third best player, possibly even second. We need an upgrade in talent.

If we could add Parsons and a defensive center that can guard the rim, I'd be pretty happy

Why does Dallas want to get rid of Parsons?

Parsons and Ezeli? Obviously there's Whiteside, but that guy scares me. His effort is questionable.
