Not sure how we would be favorited against the Rockets WHEREVER the game is being played. Sent from my Baller-Ass 5.5" iPhone 6+......... FAMS
Because our home record is significantly better than their road record. And we're only, what, a game and a half apart in the standings?
Yep. There are only 6 teams in the league who have winning road records (Toronto being one of them BTW) and 6 teams who do not have winning records at home. (Denver being one which really surprised me)
Just curious, but what if their road games have been against tougher teams than our VERY weak home game schedule.? When I mention FAVORITE, I can't give us the edge using your way of thinking.
Hard to imagine since they still have not played as many road games as us, even though we have been at home for two weeks. But I guess it is possible.
I'm talking about, who will get the negative number next to them on the Vegas line. For instance, tonight Toronto is only a 1.5 point favorite, and they're a much better team than the Rockets. With two teams with comparable records, the home team is the favorite. Bank on it.
I just don't consider us anywhere in the realm of them as a team. Just had a MUCH easier schedule. Thought they created those lines based on talent and the roster. I guess they do also take into consideration how the team is playing. Guess that's why I never gamble.
Yep, but since they've got so much cash riding on these things, they've generally got a better handle on this stuff than we do. And regarding tonight's game, I was only looking at one line. Looking across the various books, they've basically got PORvTOR as a pick 'em. http://www.oddsshark.com/nba/odds Toronto's won 12 of 13, they're second in the East, and some casinos have us favored to beat them tonight.
Their road schedule is about average as far as I can see. (Sac twice Denver twice, Knicks, Nets, WA, Memphis, Miami, Orlando, Detroit, Clips, Dallas, SA. OKC, Lakers .....) They certainly benefit from their location. ie. their Eastern conference games are often overnight trips. Both Orlando and Miami were 1 game road trips. Plus they have western conference games in their backyard. Dallas, SA, OKC, and NO.
The line was -1 Toronto this morning and has shifted to -1 Portland. Gotta like it when money is being put on the Blazers.
