is it's amazing just how bad all but 3 or 4 teams suck in the NHL. There are so many average teams it's absurd. Rangers are still in second and IMO, they blow as far as a cup contender. The embarrassment known as the Oilers who should have never been allowed to get another 1st overall pick as a rule should be created to prevent that crap from happening, finally will be dominant. McDavid is unbelievable.

That being said, Yakupov could probably be had for dirt cheap right now. He's done nothing there. I would think you could swap Hayes for him straight up .

We should have gotten Yakupov on draft day based on a Talbot package.

No reports of Oilers scouting Rangers but those teams have a history of making deals. Brooks is worthless most of the time but I do take notice when he says that there are tons of scouts at Rangers games. Especially when the Jets have been following the team for weeks. They better not give up jack for a rental. No picks. No top prospects. No McIlrath. No Miller. No Kreider though he's dumb. No Fast.

Then this Ranger fan thinks this year's SC will be going
to one of these 4 teams...........Chicago, Dallas, Los Angeles
or Washington........according to Kreider's post. Yes?

I still think Purcell would be a nice minor addition.

Team needs major changes. Not minor additions. Yakupov is a guy I'd look at adding. Shattenkirk. Ladd if he was dirt cheap. Dwight King, Tanner Pearson. Drouin. Jordan Staal. These are players I would want to add. Players that would bring a specific thing that the team needs.

I think Hayes has a lot more upside than Yakupov, 6'5" 227 lb players with offensive skills are worth more than underachieving Russians in my book. I agree Yakupov is the guy they should have received for Talbot.

Oh of course they need a big addition also Dump, i'm just saying as maybe a 2nd acquisition if possible. If you can get a guy like Ladd for Hayes and McIlrath and then a secondary player for a pick/prospect.

A 22 year old, cost controlled McIlrath and a 22 year old, cost-controlled Hayes for Andrew freaking Ladd RENTAL would be without a doubt the worst trade of all time

I really like his game and I would be furious if we moved him, but I dont know how you can be so sure about this when AV clearly has no use for him. The more we scratch him the more teams may begin calling up. Never know.

Why can't these kids grow together....in wins and losses.
Patience is a tough attribute to ask of Ranger fans, but it
may be what makes this team grow. You just cannot
keep trading youth for "rentals". Such trades only
    bring false hope.

And we have seen enough of that crap!

I think McIlrath has a much better shot at getting traded than Mel does at ever spelling his name correctly. :)

Well done 71, you got me there. Lol. Big Mac is not getting traded but sitting him in the press box every game when girardi has a hole in his knee, boyle sucks and Klein was obviously having problem holding his stick and getting anything on hiss passes and shots because he has a fractured thumb that hasn't magically healed in 4 days unless like in "Cousin Vinnie" he rubbed magic beans on it is why I repeat AV is coaching like a total Dickhead.

I don't think he has it out for McIlrath, so it must be they just aren't comfortable or trusting in him enough yet. Has to be some reason other than just sitting him or playing favorites with Girardi, who hasn't been nearly as awful as Staal. I'd use him to sweeten any deal since we dont have alot else to offer.

Doubtful McIlrath gets dealt. He's cheap and the Rangers are up against the cap. He's right handed. Boyle is gone after this year and Girardi is getting old, fast.
