So, with close to 7 weeks left until the 2007 NBA Trade Deadline (technically, 6 weeks and 3 days), which is February 22, 2007 at 3:00 pm ET. My question to you is, do you want your team to make changes? Now, this is NOT a trade scenario thread where I'm looking for people to go to the ESPN Trade Checker and post their ideas (which are completely ridiculous 9/10 times). This is a thread for you to tell me:1. Do you want your team to make a move by the deadline, or stand pat?2. What type of deal are you pushing for? (Big deal? Small deal? Medium sized deal?3. What exactly are you looking for? (Maybe a better backup point guard? Another big man? A low post option? Draft picks? Do you want your team to start blowing up? Etc.)I'll start this off by answering for myself. For the Celtics, I wouldn't rush anything, but I wouldn't be opposed to a bigger deal if it was the right deal. I think trading one of the point guards is a must, maybe not right away (especially considering it's way too early to tell), at some point. I also think that they should try and get rid of Wally. Tony Allen and Gerald Green are the guys that should be playing the big minutes. They fit our style MUCH better, and both of them need minutes to develop. Might as well do it now, while we aren't a winning team.If we stand pat for the most part this season, I'm not opposed. If we make a big deal, I wouldn't be entirely opposed if it was the right one. I would say get a big man, but we should get a pretty good one in the draft this year.
I think the Suns should make an attempt at a small deal. Something that would hopefully save some money and reduce the chances of getting rid of a bunch of players in the near future. I'm hoping for them to get a PF-C or a point guard if they can find someone. Barbosa has been better at the point and I'd like Banks' D on players like Tony Parker, Devin Harris, Jason Terry....but we need a real point guard who can run the offense. Another big man would be nice too because rebounding help is always needed and Kurt Thomas is undersized and can't jump very well at his age so he loses some rebounds even with good position. We need someone else off the bench to help out with that.
1. Do you want your team to make a move by the deadline, or stand pat? I would love to see the Cavaliers to get another steal as they did with Flip Murray before last season's Deadline.2. What type of deal are you pushing for? (Big deal? Small deal? Medium sized deal? Not big at all, maybe a deal to bring Andre Miller to Cleveland, thats if Philly is looking to trade him. The Cavaliers need a Scoring PG...IMO3. What exactly are you looking for? (Maybe a better backup point guard? Another big man? A low post option? Draft picks? Do you want your team to start blowing up? Etc.)Would love to get a Point Guard, as stated before. I love E.Snow, but he is not the answer the Cavaliers need.
1. Do you want your team to make a move by the deadline, or stand pat?Stand pat and only do a deal if it's a no brainer. There was a rumor about Anthony Johnson to Heat, but I can't really think of deal that would work out. Wayne Simien would probably be the main draw but despite Johnson's ok play, he does provide the insurance we need at pg in case of injury. So I'm opposed to a AJ deal unless we get back another pg. I would also do Croshere for Najera.2. What type of deal are you pushing for? (Big deal? Small deal? Medium sized deal?I think you were better off just asking the first question. Because this sort of goes with 1.3. What exactly are you looking for? (Maybe a better backup point guard? Another big man? A low post option? Draft picks? Do you want your team to start blowing up? Etc.)I would say a shooter would be nice if the Mavs were to seek a deal. I think for a draft pick, the Mavs are better off waiting til Draft Day to make a move. And I hope they make one as we have zero picks and it's looking like a good draft.
1. Do you want your team to make a move by the deadline, or stand pat?I think the Jazz will make a trade, a lot of people feel that they are a player away from being a real contender. and with all the trade talk surrounding Morris Peterson and Corey Maggetti, and with the Jazz having gone after both players in the past I think they could try to land one of them.2. What type of deal are you pushing for? (Big deal? Small deal? Medium sized deal?Adding Maggetti would be a big deal for the Jazz.3. What exactly are you looking for? (Maybe a better backup point guard? Another big man? A low post option? Draft picks? Do you want your team to start blowing up? Etc.)A vetern shooting guard who can play at both ends of the floor.
The Sixers should just stand pat unless they can somehow swing a deal to land expiring contracts or draft picks without giving up on of our valuable young players... otherwise they shouldn't make a move.
1. Do you want your team to make a move by the deadline, or stand pat? Make several moves2. What type of deal are you pushing for? (Big deal? Small deal? Medium sized deal? Big deal all the way3. What exactly are you looking for? (Maybe a better backup point guard? Another big man? A low post option? Draft picks? Do you want your team to start blowing up? Etc.) A consistant, rare-mistake-making, good shooting point guard and shooting guard, we need to dump Jackson and Tinsley and find two replacements. I wouldn't mind trading Jermaine O'neal too.
I'll accept any sort of deal if it means the Nets will win games, even if it means trading off Vince Carter.. And, if you haven't guessed yet, I'm a big VC fan.

1.Do you want your team to make a move by the deadline, or stand pat?Id like to see a deal or two from the Pistons. Never perfect.2. What type of deal are you pushing for? (Big deal? Small deal? Medium sized deal?I'd say a medium sized deal. Someone enough to make an impact, but not someone who will disrupt the play we've been having.3. What exactly are you looking for? (Maybe a better backup point guard? Another big man? A low post option? Draft picks? Do you want your team to start blowing up? Etc.)I want Flip Murray put of here. Someone I want is Shane Battier. Move Delfino to the 2 spot, Battier can play the 3, and we will have another nice option off the bench.
The Wizards actually need a legit center coming off the bench backing up Haywood when Etan's injured. We can't have guys like Booth and Lang playing 15-20 minutes per game. Etan has a long history with injuries, and having that guy off the bench that can give you real production is really nice. I say we dump Lang.. Booth has been doing well so far.A guy like Lorenzen Wright is a guy whom I'd want the Wizards to pursue.

I just want the Nets to be able to become a Finals team again, you know what I mean? Just one championship will make me happy.

1. Do you want your team to make a move by the deadline, or stand pat?Move Murphy for a younger athletic power forward or expirings. If Murphy leaves, I die a happy fan.2. What type of deal are you pushing for? (Big deal? Small deal? Medium sized deal?Medium sized. But we will have to give up someone else for someone to take on Murphy.3. What exactly are you looking for? (Maybe a better backup point guard? Another big man? A low post option? Draft picks? Do you want your team to start blowing up? Etc.)I want a better big man that can run the floor. It'd be great to try and get Stromile Swift, but that's not going to happen.
For the Spurs, I dont think that they need to be making any trades anytime soon. Their team right now is a very good team. I dont know if they are as good as Dallas or Phoenix as of right now, but they can hang with them for sure. I think its after next season, the Spurs are only going to have 3 guys under contract. Tim Duncan, Tony Parker, and Manu Ginobili are going to be the only players with any years left after next season, which will allow them to definitely pick up another good player. Since Bruce Bowen might retire that season, I see the Spurs going after a big free agent SF. So, the Spurs dont need to do anything this year. They still are in contention for the championship, and in two years, they are going to have a perfect situation.
1. Do you want your team to make a move by the deadline, or stand pat? That Artest article really pumped me up, I'd love to have a guy like that on my team. I'd give up Farmar, Mihm, and a draft pick for him.2. What type of deal are you pushing for? (Big deal? Small deal? Medium sized deal?Medium to big? 3. What exactly are you looking for? (Maybe a better backup point guard? Another big man? A low post option? Draft picks? Do you want your team to start blowing up? Etc.)A pure point guard like an advanced Farmar would be AWESOME.
I wouldn't mind the Bucks dealing Charlie Villanueva for a young PF/C and a pick, something like that. I love our current rotation of Mo, Redd, Bell, Skinner, Bogut, Patterson and Gadz. I doubt we make any deals but I don't want our rotation being dealt, I like our chemistry right now.
I'm not a huge fan of Anthony Johnson, so I could stand him being dealt. Other than that, I'd probably stand pat. The Croshere for Najera trade that Rok mentioned would be cool, but I'm not sure if I see that happening.
