Maybe. But just as you don't paint all anti-war protesters with the Cindy Sheehan lunatic brush, you don't with these guys.

A Federal Grand Jury has issued indictments for the remaining 4 protesters.

I didn't follow the Cindy Sheehan protest much at the time but wasn't she protesting the Iraq war? I'm not seeing how that makes her a lunatic.

I'm not seeing the Cindy Sheehan equivalence. As best I remember, she was a dipshit, so she does have that in common with Denny's Militia, but otherwise, I don't think she was armed, I don't think she appropriated federal property, I don't think she committed suicide by cop, I don't think she cost the taxpayers a lot of money.

Are we counting physical bodies or all the voices in their heads?

I heard the local tribal leaders on camera make a plea to the militia to leave and one reason was those artifacts...the locals knew they were there and from what the tribe said...they were there in trust..it's not like park rangers were digging the stuff up and boxing it without their knowledge

Thanks for tune-up Riverman, I missed that report. I also did not hear the entire report I listened to, so I could have missed some important info.

My impression from the radio report was. The Indians get upset with anyone digging up their artifacts, militants or park rangers. Not sure if different tribes have different views on, or agreements with park rangers to dig up artifacts?

Just a guess on my part, but a Federal park ranger, that belongs to a tribe, that is digging up artifacts probably would be acceptable. Some of the Federal park rangers in Idaho are Indian. It is possible some of the OR wildlife refuge park rangers may are also be Indian.

Here's one article on the local tribe's view on the situation. There are lots of others.

Thanks for the article Barfo. However, the information in this article does not match what a tribe was reporting late last week. The tribe report made it very clear the militants wanted to protect the artifacts, not sell them. And that the militants had contacted the tribes asking for guidance on the topic. Maybe their request came after and was prompted by this article?

The militia/militants/protesters/criminals/whatever hoped to make a case that the Feds were mistreating the artifacts. The tribe told them to leave and to leave their stuff alone.
That happened pretty early on in the occupation and nothing has changed since then.

Much earlier in this thread, I also posted a link to a story about how the tribe was un-happy concerning the Militants “possible” miss-treatment of their artifacts.

However, since then, new information has come forth, by the tribes and how they are now concerned with the miss-treatment of their artifacts by the government, not by the militants.

Looking at all of the information available is how you find the truth. But you seem to have a good grasp of the topic and your agenda, in a Timothy Leary kind of way. My views only come from looking through the lens at the bottom of a brown bottle.

I'm sure you realize that those photos are from the protest in Burns, not the occupation of the wildlife refuge.

    OK.

This 'new information' seems to be solely a radio program that you admit you might not have completely heard?

Please, if you have more or different information, post it. I will read it.

He he. At least this is consistent - the Militia ran away from their cause, so you propose to do the same.
