"I know it's a relief for him, taking away some of that stress from the job," Jakcson said. "It's also a person I have a long relationship with and care deeply about and hope for his success. It's time for us to make a change, turn this team around and move forward and get some wins and keep going down the road we started here at the beginning of the year."

I don't get how they expect Karl to keep working when he is "about to" get fired.

Reminds me of how KP was let go

Coaching turnover in the league is whack. No wonder some of the best college coaches give no real thought to coaching in the NBA.

I think George Karl is a good coach. He may be a bit out of his times with his coaching philosophies, but to not even give him this full season (signed halfway through last season, almost a year ago today) seems ridiculous. Oh well, most of us know that Karl isn't the entire problem. They might find a better fit, but I don't think they will find anyone more qualified... I guess in the end it really is the fit which counts.

Before we start crying for D-Fish, he's about to make 12M over the next 2.5 years of sitting on his couch. Or on top of what he does as an analyst or coach somewhere else. The only people who give "no thought" to coaching in the League are named Coach K or are over 60 (Boeheim, Izzo). Calipari would if you backed up a Brink's truck. The others would take a big-time guaranteed paycheck, partially b/c once you're in, you have a good chance of recycling.

And George's Give-a-F*** factor with dealing with the BS of players 1/3 his age is miniscule. I could see both a) him being tuned out, and b) not caring a whit.

The Knicks are 1-9 their last 10 games after starting out looking like they had made massive improvements.

PJax' pick was a shocker but turned out solid. I'd put my faith in him.

The Knicks really wanted the players that went 1-3. The fact they were stuck with the 4th pick and took the best risk/reward player left isn't a brilliant move IMHO. If they had the #2 pick and PJax took Porzingis, I think that would be a valid argument.

I hear Dennis Rodman wants to coach the Knicks.

    Do it Jackson!

That's messed up...have rumors spread virally that they are going to fire him, let him sweat, then say we were only joking man...poor Karl, he's a fragile old man, probably pissed his pants a few times over
