The Clippers have suspended Blake Griffin for 4 games over the incident in which he punched assistant equipment manager Matias Testi Team Owner Steve Ballmer and Coach Rivers raise their pointer and claim, that should teach him.
4 games AFTER he can actually come back and play I would hope. Otherwise it is just a fine (financial punishment).
Based on the CJ-Doc event earlier, I am going to go out on a limb and say the 4 game suspension will be while he is still hurt. The only way to prove otherwise is for him to come back for a game and then sit out the next 4.
Ha! "You're suspended for four games.... while you're already out injured." The NBA needs to step in. Players can't be beating the crap out of staff. That's ridiculous.
Its two friends at a dinner. If I go out with a buddy from work our employer isn't going to do shit. Griffin already has made himself looks like a giant fool for this; the NBA doesn't need to do anything.
From everything I heard, the other guy never even threw a punch. It sounds like assault to me, but the guy probably doesn't want to lose his job. If anything, this is a matter for the police.

Was it the NBA or the Clippers who suspended Griffin? The report I saw stated that the NBA suspended him for 4 games without pay as well as fining him an extra game's pay.
I agree. The damage to his hand and reputation (and marketing) outweigh any multi-game suspension. His hand looks pretty brutal too. Who knows if it may dramatically change his career. Either way he is getting what he deserves. And remember that the suspension means he doesn't get paid. So, even if some of it does happen after he is "healed" it still costs him money, where the injury does not.
As I mentioned before....this was handled out of court...that equipment manager got paid for being a punching bag...not pressing charges tells me they made it well worth his while.
