Reading more of this thread, we need to abandon the use of star and role player and superstar, etc etc. What you need to win a championship is a good TEAM made of good players. Lakers had 4 "stars" in Nash, Howard, Kobe, and Gasol and they were awful. Let's just focus on putting together a good team as opposed to searching for a name guy to take shots away from CJ and Dame. We have lots of great young guys who are improving. I don't think we need to make too many roster changes for this team to get better naturally.
I searched in vain for a thumbs down smiley... basically couldn't disagree more. Add Draymond or Davis or Drummond to this team & I would be soooooooo over the top happy I wouldn't shut up about it for weeks. I'd probably force everyone that comes into contact with me to endure my happiness and talk Blazer hoops as they'd be in the mix for the title again... & I live in the Bay Area btw. Damian, MJ, Duncan, every player is a role player. No player can win a basketball game by themselves in this or any day and age... STOMP
I think Barnes probably benefits a lot from the talent around him, in terms of the open shots he gets. I'd rather pay Crabbe than Barnes.
One nice thing about getting Barnes though, is Aminu could become the starting PF. Then we'd have a 3 man rotation of Damian, CJ and Crabbe at guard.
Getting Drummond or davis would cost us McCollum at the very least. How does that get us closer to beating golden state?
Why not both. Also crabbe doesn't have the defensive versatility or the slashing ability barnes has. The shooting is a wash. You could easily say crabbe benefits from mccollum and Lillard too.
Aren't you like the master of using the word star, superstar, etc? This seems so ironic coming from you.
