They're in the midst of a 12 game win streak, there second of the season. That's historic. To go 33 games and have two dozen game win streaks? Wow, just wow. I haven't been watching them much so I can't say a whole lot about their actual play, but I can ask why they're not getting much publicity about it. When they went on that 12 game win streak, it was overshadowed by the Suns streak, I didn't even know about it till they won 10 or 11 games. I just was looking NBA.com yesterday when I realized they're on another one. I mean, this is a much bigger deal than it's being made out to be.

Re: Where's all the Hype for the Mavs? The Mavericks always win tons of games, most fans are used to it. I know I am, thats why I don't pay much attention to the winning streak. Maybe if the Mavericks had a Kobe/LeBron type star with more fan appeal they would get more attention...I'm not saying Nowitzki isn't an elite player...but he doesn't attract that kind of attention/star power.

Yeah if the Cavaliers did this the media would be all over it freakin out that LeBron is soo good, blah blah blah, but because it's Dirk, they don't get no attention. They will get attention when they win the finals, but until then, I'm sure they don't mind it.
Re: Where's all the Hype for the Mavs? Yeah that's partially why I like the mavs. They don't have that ego maniac that demands the ball all the time. Dirk is very unselfish. His own team probably tells him to keep shooting but he likes passing.

Yeah, I've already made a few "rant" posts about this already.When the Suns won 9-10 in a row, before they got to 14, they were getting big pub about being the best team in the league and Amare and Nash being so great.I wached all the sports shows today, you know, listened to Mike and Mike in the morning, and watched Cold Pizza, 1st and 10, Jim Rome, Around the Horn, and PTI...and there was just ONE mention of the mavs...ALL day.It's just crazy.But you guys are right. The Mavs are just your normal, workman-like team, that just goes about their business and wins games...much like the Spurs do, or did, except are a lot more fun to watch.

But why don't the Mavs get a bunch of hype and media attention? Simple answer, and it's a 2-part answer:1. They don't have a high market, flashy, kind of star (like a Kobe, Wade, LeBron, Melo, Vince Carter, etc.).2. Everybody expects wins from them now, so there is no need to rave about them in the papers when they are doing as expected. Same thing with San Antonio.

The Mavs have been making the playoffs for a while now but Johnson has this team playing offense and defense. Jason Terry, Josh Howard, and Dirk Nowitzki are the best trio in the league and Avery Johnson is the best coach in the league, just look at the Mavs' efficiency rate after time outs, it's the best in the league. Josh Howard has shined since his return to say the least. He's shown that he can play great defense, bang the boards, and score 20-30 points on a nightly basis. Howard deserves to be an all-star this season, and I hope the coaches in the West can see that. The Mavericks are playing championship basketball right now, and what seperates the Mavs from the Spurs, is their hunger to win that title.
