A tough hypothetical considering the players we would be discussing are buried deep deep in lists we don't watch but..... After the success of Harkless trade for absolutely nothing, if the Blazers were to reload that gun which player can you see being a success in a trade for a future protected second rounder (read:nothing)? I will be completely unsurprised if nobody has any ideas on this due to the long shot prospects of this.
A 22 year old with upside who has shown ability as a 7th-9th man and cost literally nothing isn't success?
Kind of depends if POR actually resigns him. I like Harkless a lot but POR has to make a decision on him and I think to do that accurately they need to give him more time and let him sink or swim.
Unfortunately it seems like we may only get a week peak at him, since it'll take forever for us to be mathematically eliminated from the POs. Until that time Tater Totts is going to play his rotation heavy minutes and rely almost entirely on Dame/CJ to carry the team.
Success? Looking into his numbers Harkless is the same player now as he was in Orlando - a fringe player.
So has Perry Jones iii who we could have grabbed for no pick at all. Tbh I'd rather have our heavily protected pick, and Perry Jones iii instead of harkless.
Thomas Robinson, Lucas Noriega, Arsalan Kazemi (his rights belong to the Sixers I think), John Lucas the 3rd (though he's a FA and Frazier is better). I also like Joe Jackson from the NBDL.
