With spring training starting next week, the Red Sox are open to the idea of finding a bargain on the free agent market. One possibility would be improving the bullpen, a major league source said Thursday. Lefthanders Neal Cotts and Franklin Morales are among the relievers under consideration if the price is right. Cotts, who turns 36 in March, had a 3.41 earned run average in 68 games for the Milwaukee Brewers and Minnesota Twins last season. Lefthanders hit only .186 against him. Morales, 30, was with the Sox from 2011-13, then was traded to the Colorado Rockies. He pitched well for the Kansas City Royals last season, compiling a 3.18 ERA in 67 appearances. Morales is more of a middle reliever at this stage of his career. - See more at: http://www.bostonglobe.com/sports/2...ove-bullpen/sDhp9s6DjIZZt0Q6p9H9IJ/story.html
