In his column yesterday he says the returns of Nash and McDonagh could be the only deadline boosts the team needs since they've been playing better. That's so shortsighted and stupid it's not even funny. Nash is not having a very good season and they do have some wiggle room to make at least one solid move.
Said if for years in all sports. The incredible amount of morons who cover sports that have no clue what is going on with the team they cover is mind boggling. Never changes.
It is like with the Giants. The morons that cover the team continue to preach the same, stupid philosophy as Reese. Never trade down, never acquire extra picks, take the best player available which has left the team with no safeties, no TE's, no LB's and no depth.
Nash's scoring failures in the playoffs likely cost this team a cup. Not a legacy you really want to have.
I think our current winning streak with other players like miller, kreids, and hayes stepping up show we can get by without nash. I would look to move him while there is still interest for a tough winger, face-off guy and a draft pick or 2 .
Rangers just announced Nash out for at least another week. So much for trading his useless ass now. Can the cat scan showing the fractured leg be far behind?
Until I see differently I will keep referring to what happened with Mark Teixeira last year. Just healing slow and pain until they finally found the fracture which ended his season.
The longer Nash is out, the more you understand he is not coming back this year..............and how the Ranger organization operates! BTW, the people who cover this team outright......just plain suck. Truth in hockey is a fu'king joke.
I don't even care if they get fair value, getting rid of Rick's contract to free up cap space for the upcoming RFA's would be reward enough. Speaking of the RFA's I would look to hold onto all of them. CK, JT, Oscar, Hayes and McIlrath are a nice young core of talent.
I think the problem with hockey writers is if you're an upcoming sports reporter hockey is probably one of the last sports you look to cover because of it's lack of popularity.
