(and before you talk smack about Harris' stats this year, just think about Skiles Vs Stotts in terms of getting better offensive stats and even more rebounds).[/QUOTE]

Are you sure he is not overrated? Last year is the only year he shot 36% from deep. The rest of the time he has shot low 30's.
    Can't Harkless do that?

    He's overpaid, that's for sure.
I don't think he's a natural 3pt shooter, But we do need that new generation power forward who can compete with Lebron or Green and we're probably not getting a top PF in the upcoming free agency.

I'm fairly sure Stotts system can inflate his numbers to the realms of 16-18ppg + 8 rebounds.
If he works out - great, if we decide we can get something better than him then we can sell him for a higher price.

I know there's a feeling in the air of Harkless being similar to players like Harris, but he hasn't shown any consistency for that to be true.

So you are thinking PF for Harris. Interesting. 6'6.5" (in bare feet) and about 235lbs. I agree for the need for a new generation PF who can compete with Green. (And Harris is the same size) I am hoping Vonleh is that guy as he is so long with his 7'4 wingspan.
I guess his lateral quickness will be the determining factor if he is capable.

Tobias Harris is a lazy and bad defender.

The post you replied to was correct with MILES Plumlee; it was a 3 way proposal I made with Milwaukee getting us Monroe.

You would have to think we are going to use our space with Memphis picking up draft picks for taking the added salary of Anderson over Roberts.

Welp, nevermind. Detroit got him for Jennings and Ilyasova.

One of the picks was a top55 protected which is effectively worthless. So the actual pick they got was just a top40 second round pick of the Heat's; for the worse player on a few million larger contract.

Maybe we're holding out for a first. We absorb Boston's David Lee in a deal to get them a go to scorer and give up Hendo while getting a mid to late first round Boston pick. A number of these teams with boatloads of middle of the first round picks will be open to moving one.

Another idea I've wondered about; is there any way we could swing a deal with Denver to get back our own pick? Maybe take on the Faried contract or something. They have a ton of first round picks too.

Agreed that the second round picks were not stellar, but they were compensation.

Dont think I have ever seen a team get their draft pick back. Doubt they do a salary dump on Faried. Could definitely see the Boston deal you proposed go down.

It doesn't happen often; but its happened a number of times. TWolves got their pick back in the Garnett trade to Boston.

The Faried contract may not be bad with the cap skyrocketing; just a strategy I could see us proposing and Denver having extra picks may be willing to consider. It's guaranteed to not be a lottery pick and could even turn into second rounders. Maybe we pick up a first in a salary dump that we swing to Denver or involve a third team and somehow get our own pick back.
