Re: Will this be Walton's last year with the Lakers? <div class='quotetop'>QUOTE </div><div class='quotemain'>Q: With Lamar Odom in the lineup, Luke Walton looks like a solid forward. With him out, he seems exposed ? as if he's not ready to be a starter. Is Walton one of the NBA's best bargain players or is he an average player on an average team? --Eric Jensen A: I'm going to go with bargain player. He makes only $1.38 million this season, about one-fourth the average NBA salary, and he averages 12.1 points, 4.9 rebounds and four assists. He will be 27 in March ? neither too young nor too old ? and has had almost a breakthrough season, becoming the Lakers' third-leading scorer while still holding on to his passing skills. He is a good locker-room character and has become a go-to guy for reporters who want colorful quotes and insightful postgame analysis, even after one-sided losses. There's no denying he has suffered in Odom's absence, but so has almost every Laker, with the exception of Kobe Bryant. Walton really loves L.A., but he is an unrestricted free agent who might sign with another team for four or five times what he is making now. Maybe the Lakers will entice him to stay. Maybe they won't. If they don't, it will be their loss.</div> - LA TimesThat would be pretty sad if we didn't re-sign him. Walton is made for the triangle offense, we NEED him. That would be a realy blow to this team.
Re: Will this be Walton's last year with the Lakers? Yeah I think it would blow...And I can't believe thats all he makes, he's being robbed.
Re: Will this be Walton's last year with the Lakers? I expect Kupchak to pay up. He's the perfect role player for this team. He loves it in LA, and the Lakers have the money.
Re: Will this be Walton's last year with the Lakers? He said himself that the reason why he is in the league is because of Phil and the triangle offense. It maximises his game and hides his weaknesses. Walton aint leaving, he knows were on the brink of winning a championship.
