I think they came to the realization that there is no reason to even try to break any news. They can't compete with the national guys, so they might as well wait and report it afterwards.
Are their 1st and our 2nd in the 2016 draft, when there will be little difference? (I expect to finish closer to .400 this year than our current .500.) I hope it's into the future, when we return to way ovcr .500.
This is a conditional pick. It could be top 16 protected for all we know..... I still lukewarm on this deal if we gave up a 2nd rounder (although it could be 56 and later) and only get pick 27 out of it.
Except give Portland a future first rounder that will probably be a pretty good one once the cavs fall apart.
I've been hoping if we did anything, it would be interesting. Still hoping someone/something can turn this lead into gold. (or at least silver).
It gets us a first round pick, and actually saves Paul money this year. If we give up or pick to Denver this year, in the offseason we could have 2 future picks to try to throw into a deal for someone who becomes available.
I believe Cleveland already owned that blazers second round pick and it is just a coincidence that it is being moved in this deal.
Probably in two years when it's wide open. And btw wouldn't you want an extra first when your window closes?
