Arizona’s busy offseason means expectations for the Diamondbacks have been raised significantly and it also means manager Chip Hale is getting a contract extension after just one year on the job. Jon Morosi of FOXSports.com reports that the Diamondbacks have extended Hale’s contract “through at least 2017.” His original deal, signed in October of 2014, was for two guaranteed seasons plus a team option for 2017. So presumably the extension turns the option year into a guarantee for 2017 and perhaps also gives the Diamondbacks further seasons of coverage. - See more at: http://mlb.nbcsports.com/2016/02/18/diamondbacks-extend-manager-chip-hales-contract/
