I'm the type of guy who believes that an average Joe would make a better President or could be a CEO of a large company. In this case, no fucking way. I wouldn't let you sub out my yard work to HCP because you'd send him to the wrong house.
You're right. You've got the job. Now, max out that unstoppable front line of Meyers and Sideshow Varejao.
I think Neil did a pretty good job yesterday given that he kept the entire core together. To get a future 1st, a future 2nd, and an improvement at your emergency backup PG spot all for a future 2nd and money you had to spend anyway seems like a win. I think he as done very well drafting and trading for bargain players who could fill a spot as well as some solid mid-value players. The two things I do have a bit of an issue with is the continued trend of losing so many players for nothing and the players he's tried to sign to big deals. Thank goodness Hibbert and Kantor went elsewhere but can you imagine if we had been stuck with those two? Even Hawes at the mid-level has been a bust. As for players leaving, Aldridge, Lopez, Matthews, Freeland, Wright, Afflalo, and now likely Henderson, Kaman and possibly Leonard. That is a TON of players in 2 years that Neil could recieve absolutely NOTHING for. I get that there were circumstances but that is still the reality of it and there were certainly signs about Aldridge for some time. Assets are one thing but if you aren't able to get anything for them over and over again, that is one area I would at least submit is questionable.
Eastoff won't see this cuz I'm numero uno on his ignore list. Somebody quote me so he sees my post. Happy Friday, ya bastard! FAMS!
It's how the Clippers were run for decades. High draft pick in, gets ruined by injuries and the team attitude, garbage out after about 3 years. I always say that Olshey learned his craft with the Clippers, and may run our team the same way, satisfied with the ins equaling the outs. I'm not sure, just watching for similarities.
This doesn't really seem reasonable. Sure the thread title is negative and inflammatory, but it's still about the Blazers. Are we so limited by being the official Blazers forum that fans can no longer make threads on the main page expressing anger at the front office over strategies with which they disagree?
