Shortly after Thursday's trade deadline passed, general manager Gar Forman addressed the state of the Bulls in a phone conversation.

Forman declined comment on a question about whether comparisons of this season and Tom Thibodeau's record in navigating through injuries bothered him and said he didn't want to get into "individual player grades," declining a question on the inconsistencies of Nikola Mirotic and Doug McDermott.

Otherwise, Forman spoke to a wide variety of topics:

Why didn't you trade Pau Gasol?

"Because we like him. We value Pau. We value him on the floor and the leadership he brings. We didn't make calls looking to move Pau. We received calls on most of our players. Our job is to listen and to hear what people have to offer and get the pulse of what is happening around the league."

    Is re-signing Gasol a priority?

"We really like Pau. We were thrilled when he came. We think he has been very good for us these last two years. We see him as a part of our core." http://www.chicagotribune.com/sports/basketball/bulls/ct-gar-forman-qa-spt-0219-20160218-story.html

Gar's certainly mastered the art of Corporate Speak. He does a remarkable job of touching all the bases while not actually saying anything at all.

Refuses to give individual player grades before he assigns one to Gasol . . . KC did a good job juxtaposing those quotes.
