Wow. This is contrary to everything written on this board for many years. Okay, you oppose all criticism of the news media. They should write whatever lies they want. They should practically replace the government, religion, and economic system. The media should be our masters. Finding wrong with the media = being whiny. Sure. You must have a connection.

Sure. But those people have NOTHING to do with Damian Lillard. Even if there are Damian "issues" at some point in the future, any issues with those other people will have had nothing to do with it. Why bring it up? Judge Dame on Dame, not someone else.

The problem with nearly every sportswriter in existence is they don't want to be a sportswriter.

They fancy themselves an investigative reporter.

Ultimately, they morph into a mediocre, preachy mess that neither reports sports stories nor uncovers any great mysteries but manages to alienate both players, owners and fans to the point they end up writing blogs or for free papers.

Nope. No connection. The paper is what it is. They want to get you talking about them and they will write whatever the highest bidder wants them to. That's who they are. Whining about it doesnt change it.

I wasn't referring to Dame but to those players before in that list and that for the most part, in hindsight, it had all come out about the way it had been written about. And I didn't bring that up, someone else posted that list of players.

Fans whine about everything. Canzabo, quick, Dwight, Haynes, jabari. They literally are never happy with any of them.

I would trade any of them for Haynes back in a second. Dude would at least break news

I too have enjoyed Quick's take over the years. Very much so. But he definitely has gotten more sensitive and prickly these past few years. Not sure what that's all about, but if he can't take the heat he certainly has no business being a writer. When you make your opinions and insights public, you knowingly and willingly set yourself up for criticism. It comes with the job. Maybe Quick has forgotten that.....maybe we need to invite him to an SC2 function, pour beers down his throat and get him to lighten up. Getting in kj's grill says JQ is too tightly wound.....

By comparison, most people here have no experience with East coast fans or media which is much more harsh than ours is on this side of the counrty.

...does this mean Quick will soon have his own "sticky" thread dedicated to his writings where he posts and interacts with us on the board?! :dunno:

Fans always bitch about their favorite team's writers, particularly when they are writing things that point to trouble behind the scenes. Now certain writers (Canzano?) can definitely bring it on themselves when they cultivate a reputation for being a shit-stirrer, but I've never found Quick's articles to be that way. The only negative I can ascribe to him is he seems to get too emotionally involved with this subjects.

When Jason Quick doesn't interject a lot of unnecessary melodrama, and when he doesn't insert himself into the story, and when he doesn't slant his writing in favor of his favorites (cough$amoncough) and his enemies (coughSheedcough), he's a good writer.

Quick has been worth the time to read and listen to. However, there was a period in his career when he was taking troll lessons from the Clown. At times it was difficult to tell the two apart. He lost respect and credibility with some Blazer fans at that time, including myself.

Not sure what he is really upset about now? Maybe he is trying to separate himself further from the clown and re-create himself with Blazer fans? Maybe he had a fight with his lady and took it out on Kjironmann1? We all have bad days. I would give him a second chance now.

UnicleCliffysDaddy’s idea of sharing an adult beverage with Quick is a very good idea.

You disagree that whining about it wont change it? If so, I have some timeshares I'd like to sell to you.

Money will change what they write, not whining.

I couldn't disagree with you more, when you say that we shouldn't criticize the media.

A second chance goes to someone who has only done some wrong once, not to someone who has been criticized for it for 10 years and won't change.
