Imagine Henrik got kicked in the head and the goal counted? OMG HENRIK ALMOST GOT DECAPITATED AND THE GOAL COUNTED! CONSPIRACY AGAINST NY! Why is it so hard to understand? when a goalie is in the crease and there is contact with an opposing forward the goal is almost always disallowed, regardless of how the goalie came into contact with the other player. The contact with Lindberg's foot was inside the crease, which is all that matters. Again, MANY times we have seen a defenseman purposely push a forward into the goalie creating contact in the crease resulting in a disallowed goal. BS? yes, of course, but consistent with the NHL not wanting ANY goalie contact inside the crease.
There was no contact. He stuck out his stick and tripped Lindberg and when Oscar fell his skate caught Howard in the helmet. The no call was ridiculous. Not to mention there was no goalie interference penalty so there was no contact initiated by the Rangers.
no, the call was consistent with every call the NHL has made for years where the goalie gets bumped in the crease for any reason and the goal is disallowed. It is not very hard to understand.
Well then the NHL needs to reevaluate what the heck they have a video review staff for. They should be able to view each incident subjectively. Dosen't seem like they are. If that was reversed i'd even be saying Detroit got screwed.
Yes, they should. And when a defenseman shoves a forward into the goalie the goal should stand but the NHL is very firm on not allowing any contact in the crease with the goalie regardless of how it happens.
Did you not see the replays? or you did not gave your glasses on when they were showing them? Howards stick was outside the crease (while his body was inside the crease) when he made contact with Lindberg, who upon falling down swung his leg back kicking Howard on the face with his foot, whose body was INSIDE the crease.
It's unfortunate Chuck left, but not surprised he did. The whining that goes on at every play is unbearable.
Stop with the insults and stupid bullshit and have a discussion like a normal person. The rule is absurd and ambiguous no matter how you slice it.
lol, so you have sensitive feelings like Chuck, too? Yes, the entire goalie interference crap is pure BS because many goals have been disallowed when they shouldn't be, but it should not have surprised anyone this goal was disallowed when the NHL has consistently disallowed every goal where any contact with the goalie has been made while he was in the crease, regardless of how it happened. It's very black and white, and it should not be b/c teams take advantage of it, but it is and they are consistent about it.
It just dosen't make much sense the league can't these things sorted out when they have a seperate dept for it. You can't blanket every type of goalie bump under a single decision. Plus the goal happened 3 or 4 secs afterward, its not as if the puck was in the air or about to be shot.
It's an obvious bad rule that should be addressed. That being the case there's nothing wrong with complaining about it.
717, you keep making the same, dumb, comment. The team wins and the board goes silent. That's because nobody here who has a clue gives a rats ass about regular season wins. For this team, it isn't about regular season wins. We have an aging goalie whose time is running out and a team that clearly hasn't competed with the elite teams in the league. In other words, has shown that it doesn't match up vs. the best. You are getting giddy over regular season wins. The team has an old fart making 4.5 on defense who stinks. Two guys on defense making over 11 million who are playing like bottom pairing defenseman. A 50 IQ power forward who can't finish and figure out how to use his talent. A 6'5 center who can't win draws and is lazy. A coach who continues to destroy any offense the 4th line might produce by putting a useless forward on that line because he has a man crush on him. A defenseman who they gave up an absurd amount for and can't sign. You want us to get excited. Ain't gonna happen.
Hank played another strong game, the occasional night off isn't going to hurt him. Hank has been interfered with worse than that disallowed goal numerous times this year and the officials haven't even gone to Toronto for a review so the notion that it's cut and dry on any play where a goalie gets hit is utter nonsense. The Rangers have a great young core of talent, don't know if they can count on Nash. Who cares whether someone is negative or positive on a message board?
So endless negativity is better? As for the season I would think an active message board where the team is discussed would be good. Otherwise what's the point? Only come here for the playoffs?
