Then who would you like to play? Nash wasn't having a great year either but when you lose important bodies to injury you can't just snap your fingers and replace them. Then there's complaints about the people who they do bring up so they can put lines out on the ice.
It's another rule that they should make cut and dry because the way it reads the tape is fine as long as it doesn't injure another player. Two players with tape fought but because one got cut in the fight Miller gets an extra five minutes and tossed with a match penalty. Doesn't make any sense.
I don't watch too many other leagues very closely but I think NHL must be one of the most retarded professional leagues in the world with their rules. They have like gazillion of rules, probably half of them don't ever make any sense.
Hank's effort was wasted by lazy play, you can only save so many point blank shots. It was another case of AV failing to change strategies because of early success and the Debs seemed to want the game more. Had to laugh at Mich explaining that Boyle got caught pinching on the breakaway 4th goal - no Joe he's just old and slow. Skjei looks like he needs more time on the ice at the NHL level, they have to move Yandle. It's too bad the Rangers aren't run like the Hawks. Got 2 over the hill overpaid dmen? To waivers they go to free up $4 mil before the trade deadline, those are the kind of moves that win you multiple Cups.
I stopped watching after the second. I realized when about 5 Rangers were dragged down and the Devils didn't get any penalties that the league was hitting the "Screw the Rangers button" and it was pointless to torture myself and watch any further.
And ironically kalinin said after the game he got cut by his visor which I thought the rule was had to be removed in any fight but what the hell do I know anymore.
I think since most guys are wearing visors now I don't think they enforce or go with that rule anymore. I do find two guys with visors fighting quite silly.
Where would I begin. Mess, I think it all starts with the defense where we have 3 guys Girardi, Staal and boyle who simply can't keep up and play a man to man defense while burying a kid who has shown he can play in the press box. I think with this group av needs to change to a zone type defense where their in better position instead of constantly having 2 d-men in the corner and the front wide open which happened again last night resulting in a goal. AV seems by the way he play Yandle to have no use for him. Fine, thats the coaches prerogative but if were trading him which I don't see how were not why not maximize the asset instead of tarnishing him. The defense pairs stink. How do you put boyle on his weak side(is there any other side for boyle) and then saddle dylan with him. (Should have put more experienced girardi or klein with him) and then play the duo mostly with the 4th line. As of right now until McD comes back the lines should be Yandle-Mac, ski-klein and boyle-girardi. When McD and staal comes back best pairs would be McD-Mac(so the cheap shots stop and will be a very good pair), Staal-klein and Yandle until he is traded-girardi and then skjei-girardi. Boyle should either be converted to 4th line forward(which basically if you watch him he spends all his time in the offensive end anyway, traded, waived or put in the friggin press box till season ends because he sucks. For the offense I think in another week we will have some kind of offensive addition. With the rumors flying it could be anyone at any position involving draft picks(christ, I hope not) prospects(hopefully not the top 3 of buch, skjei or graves) or actual current player or players. What I don't see with AV thats disturbing me is him fighting for his players with the refs like the other coaches do as we get continually screwed on the penalties(Devile had no penalties last night ROTFLMAO). Off the top of my head I can think of 3 or 4 easy. I like the way hrivik looked last night and a 4th line of moore, hrivik and anyone not named glass might be pretty good. AV's blind loyalty to glass is hurting the team and I wish gorton would get rid of him already. All this being said I still expect the rangers to make the playoffs comfortably and with Hank who is playing at the top of his game now and the trade-in addition(s) will be able to compete with anybody.
^^^^^to add...............Glass should not be the only scapegoat during yesterday's fiasco. Yes, many have beaten this dead horse to the hilt, but many players did not play very well. And to add to the misery, ready depth from the Rangers' miserable farm team, Hartford of the AHL, is just not good or not ready to take the next step. Also, AV looks dumbfounded with their performance. If many of you think NJ was a lousy game, look what's waiting for this team........Thursday, at St. Louis and Saturday afternoon at Dallas. Just how optimistic are you about these upcoming games? Anybody expect a miracle? LOL Remember (uhhmmmm) it's just a game. For those who wanted Nash traded, think again.........there isn't anyone who is able to do what he did day in and day out. It is a shame because I think (just a feeling) he won't be back.
It is just my opinion...........Glen Sather never could achieve what he did in Edmonton. From year to year he mortgaged this team, dealing away #1 picks, #2 picks to try to obtain a Stanley Cup. He failed. And giving NTC contracts has really strapped this organization. And to top that off........... the Rangers are Cap Strapped with little or no maneuvering room. The consolation: On the whole this present team is young and they will have to learn together. Management must stop giving away #1 picks for a bandaid move. Gorton and friends must act responsibly.
