They managed to find a picture of him looking very alert for an article that accuses him of being very inattentive.
Carson has failed to manage his own campaign, how can he manage our country? At least Trump can manage a parking garage, no wonder Trump is so popular.
He is running for president. The default assumption is that he is an egotistical, belligerant, scam artist!
But I thought that Republicans oppose big spenders, and will cut expenses. I only read one of the links in the article, this one http://www.theatlantic.com/politics/archive/2015/10/where-is-ben-carsons-money-going/410839/ Basically it says that the Citizens United decision by the Supreme Court made not only revenue sources, but expense destinations, secret. So the now-secret donors can't verify that their money went to up-and-up vendors. One accusation is that the Carson PAC's head guy was paid $14 million for a few months of work, out of ~$30 million collected. No one knows, since a 3-person committee decides what to pay him and themselves, and the decisions are secret to donors and to candidate Carson. Also, it says that unlike other campaigns, Carson's PAC spent most of its money on old-fashioned cold-calls, either via postage or phone solicitors.
Carson is difficult to figure out. Is he himself a scam artist? The phony biography he's created suggests that. Or is he a victim of scammers? His general cluelessness suggests that. Is he just trying to sell books? Or get a job at Fox News? Is he even aware that his campaign is over? Interesting character. barfo
The article notes that Carson's PAC people are the same as the Gingrich PAC 4 years ago. As I've posted before, Gingrich ran for President only to sell DVDs of his speeches to his campaign. As a vendor to his own campaign, it was legal for him to make profits from the money donors gave his campaign. The money that he did spend directly from the campaign, he spent on 5-star hotels and lived it up. The article says that Carson hired the same organization. It says that coincidentally, Carson suspended his campaign, while other candidates campaigned in New Hampshire, so he could go on book tours and make money while the Sun shines on his fame. Of course, Trump plugs his own hotels and golf courses in his political speeches. What do you expect from a party whose donors give money not for philosophical beliefs or to further the good of the country, but because they hope for a return on investment, in the form of lower taxes for the rich.
Carson should never hold a political office, at any level of government, not even at a city level. But, he would make a great adviser or member of a think tank. If you give Carson a single problem to work on, he is smart enough, and possesses the high level of thought process necessary to eventually find the best answer. However, he is not able to handle the many different topics all politicians must deal with on a daily basis. My guess is, Carson is honest, but very gullible and has been taken advantage of. Not the qualities you want in a politician.
