I'd probably write in Bernie or pick a third party candidate. Living in a state that always votes the same way frees you up to vote third party without any negative consequences. "Hey look I voted third party I'm such a rebel!"

Yeah other than his fascistic racial politics and fanatical white supremacist fanbase, he seems like the one Republican candidate who wouldn't roofie your daughter. And that's high praise in 2016.

It's gonna be awesome hearing all the "if such and such becomes president I'm leaving the USA" chatter...... NOT

The empty threats around election time by dems and repubs is laughable

You don't think supporting an asshat is throwing your vote away.

You do think supporting someone you like is throwing your vote away.

I don't think you understand how this whole voting thing works.

Oh I do. I learned at a young age to register as an independent because republicans and democrats hate each other and don't actually listen.

But I also learned as an independent I get screwed out of doing anything other than voting in the primary. And seeing asshat third party nominees too.

So, I'll have fun voting for the better of the two main candidates and actually have a say. Instead of voting with a couple hundred people for some other jerkoff nobody will ever remember

You have no say. Mondale was the last Democratic nominee who didn't win Oregon, and that's not changing any time soon, regardless of how you, I, or anyone else on this board votes. Your "lesser of two evils" vote is the "throwaway", because not only does it not impact the end result; it also goes to someone with whom you fundamentally disagree. At the very least, I know that my vote went to whom I believe to be the best option to run the country, rather than the slightly less bad.

I haven't seen one politician that I fundamentally agree with on anything. The closest one I've seen is tom potter who was Portland mayor.

And sure, voting for a repub might be throwing a vote away In Oregon (essentially Multnomah county only) especially if it's a president.

I'll add that even though if I were to "throw away" my vote for a repub, it helps in the popular vote of the USA. And I believe if a president were to lose the popular vote again, but win the election, that would have a much likelier outcome of overhauling the system instead of morally feeling right voting for a guy that ends up with 10,000 votes nationwide

What I don't get, on both sides, is not wanting a "career politician." If I was having surgery, I would want a career doctor, not a businessman. If I was in a lawsuit, I would want a career lawyer, not some novice.

Running a branch government is not a job for amateurs. Even Reagan had two terms as governor of the largest state.

Government for and by the people. Not government for and by the career politicians.

    Not that hard to grasp.

    What did Obama run?

you should seriously take a look at where the country was when he took his first oath and compare it to now....we are in way better shape than the end of the Cheney dynasty and it's not even close...don't like Obama...fine, but we're better off now than before he took office
