I was never on board with it until now but I would seriously consider Larry Sanders as that guy. It would be more for taking a look at him in the off-season and hoping he grows into a role next year but I think a team who took him on now (if he wants to be taken on - according to reports he is almost ready to come back) would have a head start on keeping him vs trying to sign him this off-season.

I wouldn't mind him on the bench for injury insurance, but only if you cut Kaman or Pat C.

Larry Sanders = misunderstood + deserving of a 2nd chance.

I liked him in the Garry Shandling show.

Wright was awful when he played for us. And he just played in China - that should tell you everything you need to know about his abilities.

Right now I dont think there is a better situation for him than in Portland. Excellent and supportive leadership, great team environment, bunch of guys his age, plus weed is legal in oregon! I felt so bad for the guy getting in trouble for weed, I always felt like he would really be successful in a better situation.

could be another great NO reclamation project!

EDIT: I know he had other emotional issues as well but still....

Sanders would be a real gamble - but if he paid off, NO/Stotts would look like geniuses!

I don't think anyone is going to pay him more than the minimum in a "prove it" kind of deal. So really not much of a gamble. I would take him at even MLE money over Hassan Whiteside at MAX.

This. Plus he's still decently young.

If he couldn't take minutes from Batum, he sure won't take them from Farouq.
