The NBA's team scoring numbers this year has been incredible, the amount of 100+ scorers are doubled from last season. We have already seen combined scores of 318, 296, 288, 283, 269, 260, 257, and a few 240+ games. What do you think is the #1 cause for scoring numbers being so high?

I agree with redneck. It has a lot to do with the ticky tacky fouls, and the lack of defense played as a result of not wanting to get into foul trouble. Also there is a huge lack of good defenders in the league today.
<span style="font-family:Comic Sans MS">At first, I thought the new ball helped early in the season but the teams haven't slowed down in scoring, so I'm pretty sure it's what redneck said:</span><div class='quotetop'>QUOTE </div><div class='quotemain'>Pussy ball, AKA everything is a foul.</div>
david stern knows that people wanna see high scoring exciting basketball instead of competitive games that actually involve defense. everyone knows that recently there have been more and more rules added each year like hand checking, not being allowed to put your forearm on the players back when he's posting up etc. pussy fouls that do nothing but benefit the offense and lead to more and more free throws. that's why we have like 30 20-point scorers in the league. I like to see scoring but to see this kind of scoring and no effort defensively bothers me the most. only one team gives up less than 90 points a game and that's only because they play at a slow pace.
1. "Pussy ball" like redneck said. The amount of fouls being called nowadays is just absurd. What ever happened to a nice, tough, physical battle between two teams? Rivalries? Emotions? Etc. Nowadays, if you show a lot of emotion, you get a technical, and if you breath on somebody too hard it's a foul.2. Other than a handful of teams, the overall defense in the NBA nowadays is just terrible.
