I was just correcting you lol You said rockets were going to lose and they won. I felt you were mistaken there. That's all
So, I think I am getting spoiled by Dame and CJ. I read this headline, and was thinking "Is 55 a lot for your 2 best players?"
now Chalmers is injured, does this help our chances at the 5 spot? http://www.nba.com/video/games/celtics/2016/03/09/0021500953-mem-bos-play6.nba/ am I the only one that thinks this looks eerily similar to when wes went down? that's not an ankle turn, and he grabs for that same spot wes did....
I still wonder why we did that. IMO cutting Kaman while keeping Side Show Andy would have been a much smarter move.
Kaman's rapport with the team is probably more useful than the 50 or so total minutes Andy would get the rest of the season.
I was against cutting Varejao. Not because of what he brought on the court but it would've increased our salary cap flexibility. Now his deal will eat up cap space until 2021. If we had kept him but don't add any expensive free agents this summer, we could keep his full deal on the cap and be done with it in 2017. If we trade for a high salary player could've thrown his salary into the trade. If we needed every dollar of cap room could've cut and stretched his salary this summer just as we did last month. But now we have fewer options. Potentially cutting $10 million off our cap is more valuable than keeping Kaman or Cliff Alexander.
I assume we did it as a favor to Varejao and his agent. Get him out of a bad situation in Cleveland, and allow him to go to a contender of his choice rather than rot on the bench here. It's the little things like that that Olshey is very good at, greasing the wheels for future generosity.
