It does seem quit odd in many ways. With mention of past discretion's, like: the LAPD showed up to a domestic disturbance call 90 minutes prior, as well as Meisner himself being taken away by Ambulance, for....?? (probably a nervous breakdown) unfortunate story....

    and:

The details of the domestic disturbance are unknown. TMZ reported Randy was "acting erratically" and waving a BB gun, but police did not confirm those details.

The couple had faced bizarre turmoil in the past year. A conservatorship court battle in July revealed Randy Meisner had threatened murder-suicide with an AK-47 while staying at an Encino hospital earlier that year.
But he did not have a weapon with him at the time.

The case alleged the one-time Eagle had been diagnosed with bipolar disorder.
Just another name for "manic depression"...

One of his friends, James Newton, said in the case Meisner's wife ignored the star's health problems and battles with substance abuse. She allegedly kept her husband in a "state of near-constant inebriation" while wasting his royalties, according to TMZ.

Wow, this was the last thing I was expecting. Randy looks worn out, haggard, and unfortunately is showing his age, beyond his years...

It's damn near depressing to see those Musicians or Actors we recall in their prime as healthy and full of life; who are now, pushing 70 give or take a few years, as their faces reveal a tough life, even tougher when on the road**; taking its toll.

** to name but one of several reasons why our Hero's, are aging, some not so gracefully...

I too cannot help but think, there's got to be more to this story, were yet to hear about......???

A friend of mine back in the Nineties was a pretty good guitar player and singer. A huge Sting fan with a band that did Sting cover tunes well but kept a moderately low profile, He always said that there is a huge price to pay for the big time fame and adulation and I think he had a good point. Many had great music lives but their personal lives leave a bit to be desired,

...I saw an interview with Randy Meisner 2-3 years ago and he didn't look nearly as old as he was.

...I was actually more of a fan of his work with Poco.
