There is a reason why during Torts days we were able to hang on to leads, and with this coach we losing games in the last few minutes. Boyle would take every single face off at the end of the game, I just don't get it.
Stepanat 46 % and dropping on draws. Should be around his usual, embarrassing 45% at the end of the year. I'm starting to lose trust in AV as the coach. He continued use of Glass is moronic. His refusal to move Stepan to wing is idiotic. He continued refusal to bench and punish Kreider who sucks in half the games he's plays is laughable. He starting to show a lot of flaws as a coach. Not saying their is a better option out there but he's looking extremely clueless this season.
Staal an impossible 20 for 22 on face-offs that everybody saw except unfortunately for our coach who doesn't put him out for pivotal face-off. I though it would take staal 5 games to get acclimated but it looks like 3 is the number. He looked good and will be a gig asset going forward. I'm starting to agree with you guys on my kreids. Just seems like the kid spends too much time analyzing instead of just reacting and playing. Didn't think possible they would trade him but if he doesn't wake up soon they just might at the draft this year.
I think the Rangers want to keep Staal and Yandle. I think both want to stay here. That tells me Moore, Boyle, Stalberg, Kreider and Nash are probably gone at the end of the season. Moore, Boyle and Stalberg pays for Yandle. Nash and Kreider pays for Staal and a few others. More and more I see Yandle, more and more I think the Rangers will keep him and move somebody else. I never thought they would do that but now that Kreider has proven to be an imbecile, I believe they will trade him. Let's face it. He probably will ask for 4 million. No thanks.
The obvious move for AV would have been Staal wins the faceoff then hits the bench but AV likes to out think himself. They didn't shown up at the beginning but somehow scratched their way back into the game poised to steal a point only to lose on a well placed shot from a clean faceoff win. Frustrating but not their worst loss of the season for sure, hope it motivates them to come out firing on all cylinders next meeting. I thought the Rangers played well considering Raanta was in net, they were down a dman early and no Nash or Staal. Eric Staal was exactly what this team needed for the playoff push.
Kreider not having a great season will actually help save some towards signing others. I would look to trade Hayes at the draft for a 2nd they lost and maybe a prospect. It would also save another 3m. Keeping both Staal and Yandle should definately be the end goal of this offseason. Then add in Skjei and PB hopefully and that's a very solid team for the next few years.
They have three inconsistent big forwards. Nash, Kreider and Hayes. IMO, you can't have three of those guys on your roster if you want to with cup. To many games they don't show up.
Only problem I see keeping Yandle is that you need to move m staal so skjei can play and that probably costs e staal.
I would keep Hayes and CK and move Nash by whatever means necessary in the off season, moving Nash more than pays their salaries and is a step towards being able to resign E. Staal and Yandle.
