Huh? What's the point of being a fan if you can't love the players on your team?

Dorozen is enticing because he's available next year, and there's a chance he'd sign here because of his tied to Dame...but ideally we need a front court player.

I like DeRozan, but I think I'd rather have CJ to be honest. If DD can play the 3 then sure

DeRozen would be fine here with CJ. We stagger rest after 6 minutes so he may end up playing just as much SG as SF. Aminu could guard LeBron, Kawhi or Paul George. It's 2016 not 1998 we don't need nor want all our guys to be big and physical at perimeter positions.

Thinking about this more; if DeRozen signed here I don't know if its best to start Plumlee. Plumlee gives us needed offense ability and passing with our current forwards. But if we effectively replace Vonleh with DeRozen on offense? That changes what we need from the two bigs. Maybe Ed Davis and Aminu defense would be more useful.

    Davis / Plumlee
    Aminu / Vonleh
    DeRozen / Hendo
    CJ / Crabbe
    Dame

Think I would role with that rotation. Plumlee skills would be more useful on the second unit where we have offensive lulls. Ed is also better at avoiding fouls against starters; and less likely to shoot free throws at the start of quarters.

If Meyers and Harkless can be brought back for third string prices do it. They get along with teammates and would be playable if there's an injury. They aren't important parts of the core so if it costs much let them go.

I like what your saying here alot. Now call me crazy but...WHAT IF, Meyers can improve his Center Defense a bit more to no longer be a liability. Resign him and start him at center? I only say this, because he is our best misd range pick and pop big we have currently and I think that would help open the middle more for the three scorers.
There is an odd man out in there for sure though...

So Derozen and GPII to Portland this summer. That gives us a nice 3 man scoring combo and what could be a great back pg. The stars will then align so we can drop Meyers and bring in the REAL Sabas Jr. in the number 11

It'd be interesting to see him on the team, with them being so close would we be able to rock a

    Dame/CJ/DeMar/Davis/Plum

lineup, chemistry off court for sure, might translate on-court

    D in the front court
    O in the back court

That would be a lot of players who wanted/needed shots to be effective and very little defense.

CJ would be the asset that would bring the most and if DeRozan is here, I want him playing SG and not moving him to a different position. That rarely works.

I like CJ but would be ALL on board with that.

They would need a front court player who can play defense, rebound and stretch the floor. Either that or a defensive minded center who dunks everything in sight without needing a lot of shots....like Whiteside. I know some of his metrics on defense aren't great but you can make the number say almost anything.

I'm not really a fan of Monroe, but Neil sure seems to love him.

I'm not either. Middle clogging PF/C who can't stretch the floor or play defense. Does pass well so that's a plus.

There is zero chance CJ will be traded. Some delusional Blazer fans can't seem to let their hate for him die.

I don't think it's hate for most people. I like CJ a lot. I like his game. I like his personality and character. I think he's exactly the kind of guy that you want on your team. With that said, if we were to sign someone like DeRozan, that could potentially make CJ expendable. His value is extremely high, and we might be able to get a very good player at another position of need. If we could get a team like Indy to bite on a deal that sends back George, would you not do it? Obviously it would have to include more than CJ on our end, but I think a lineup that included Dame/DeRozan/PG would be a lot better than Dame/CJ/Aminu.

Pretty much what I was going to say.

I'm not all for trading CJ, but if the right deal came along, why wouldn't you? We need a 3 in the worst way that can create his own shot.

Aminu -tries- to create his own shot... but it usually ends up being for the other team as Aminu turns it over...
