I thought that's what you ment, and I fully agree.
we have only seen him play someplace he hates to be and he's clearly been a beast. what happens when he gets into a better situation where he's actually happy to be where he is at....

Put simply, he has not been put in a position to succeed. Cousin's weakness is his maturity - you don't put guys like that as a leader of your piss poor team. If the Kings were better or even if they had some hope to be better, he'd be fine.

It'd be better for both the Kings and Cousins if he were traded. My heart is happy that he could join us. My brain is sad because I think he joins the Celtics.

    You misspelled "thug behavior."

    Just sayin'.

Back in the day we called them "enforcers." Maybe you forgot what Maurice Lucas looked like?

There's a HUGE difference between "thug" and "enforcer."

You can't seriously compare Maurice Lucas to Demarcus Cousins.
One was a team-first guy, did anything it took to win, positively, and a great teammate.
The other is someone Mike Rice wants to bludgeon with a baseball bat.

Lucas sucker punched a guy. That's pretty "thug" in my book.

He sucker punched a guy to protect a teammate. That's pretty "enforcer" in my book.

Your both right. Enforcing thuggary is important to a successful nba team.

Yeah if I am Sacramento I am trading him to the east. And with 4 first-round picks; and 4 second-round picks in 2016.......and Cap space...Boston is looking like a good trading partner. Olynyk or Marcus Smart plus the #4th pick (from the Nets) seems like a good starting point.

I didn't say there was anything wrong with it. I'm just saying that it seems like "enforcer" and "thug" depends on whether you like the guy.

Nope. In simple terms, "Enforcer" is about team. "Thug" is about individual.

Maybe George Karl is a douche?

Rasheed was WIDELY considered an amazing teammate by virtually every single player I ever talked to, but he threw a towel in the face of Sabonis. Maybe Boogie is tired of losing?

George Karl is a douche. And Cousins is a thug.

So was Rasheed, by the way.

Welp, we got to the WCF twice with a bunch of thugs, so I'm fine with having thugs as long as we're winning.

I'd rather not root for thugs if I don't have to.

Cousins isn't an enforcer. Not even close. Unless we've changed the definition of enforcer to mean petulant, child who pouts and throws temper tantrums when he doesn't get his way.

Seriously, how many times was Maurice Lucas suspended by his own coach for conduct detrimental to his own team? Cousins isn't an enforcer, he's a disrupter. He disrupts his own team. He gets stupid technicals, gets ejected, yells at his own coach and teammates and gets suspended.

I don't even consider Cousins a thug. He's a spoiled brat who acts out in negative ways. Yes, we haven't seen him on a good team, but when you're clearly the best player on your team, you need to be more of a leader. He's now nearing the end of his 6th NBA season and he's still every bit as immature as the day he was drafted.

He wasn't on the Mike Bibby team. He was fun as hell to watch at first but the team was better when he left.

Cousins is the broken engine in a car with a broken Kings transmission. It's not getting you anywhere. Is the transmission preventing him from moving? You bet.

But you put a broken engine into a perfect car with a pristine transmission its still not taking you anywhere.

Try to throw that big heavy engine in the trunk of Dame's speedster; our rig will still be moving. Will that broke engine move faster than it ever has? Yes. But what happens to our speed?
