The Pacer win was a very good win and probably the best in that last month or so. Quality road win against a good team. The Bulls win I'd put in another category as they were without Rose, Butler, Mirotic and Noah....you should expect to win that game with 4 of 5 starters out but they did what they should do...beat an undermanned team. Subsequently, the Raptors loss was a quality loss as they battled a very good team on the road that shot FT's until their arms about fell off and POR played with them right till the final buzzer due to a Herculean effort from Dame. It's not so much that they lost to some of those teams but HOW they have lost. Getting blown out and not even competitive against Boston, OKC, GS and also when the Spurs decided to put their foot down, they were up by 20 in no time. It's those types of teams that Portland would play in the 1st round and without HCA. A competitive Playoff series would be great for the younger players. A blowout wouldn't accomplish much for anyone.
Totally agree but when I say it its ahhhhhhhklsdhlakdhalkhakdfh a bunch of gibberish complaining but its coo they'll see soon enough when we're just sacrificial lamb for top teams in the playoffs
The way I see it, unless the Blazers could somehow pass the Grizzlies and get into the 5th seed to play the Clippers in the first round, there's near zero chance of making it to the second round. I don't think that matters, frankly. I think that having this team be as successful as possible, having the players grow as much as possible, and having the team getting as much attention as an up and coming squad for the future is all that matters. Olshey needs to have good FA front line players excited about the possibility of playing with Dame and CJ. He needs to make signings using some of that cap space to make next year's team one that can win a series and maybe the one after that one that can contend. It's not about this year. It's about the future.
But we blew out GS too, so they must suck and need to make some changes if they want to contend with us right??? Come on man..... Teams get blown out and so will the Blazers... It happens. Its not the end of the world, the season or this team.....
It's because you're obnoxious about it. People tune you out. TBpup actually puts up a halfway decent argument.
You're right, but Golden State didn't go 2-6 after getting blown out by us. We have won two games since the Celtics demolished us.
And this is it in a nutshell. Tunchi gets on my nerves something fierce because he doesn't listen or acknowledge reason. I love butting heads with Tpup... He is rational and can sway me on things I hadn't thought of. Nate is the same... so Is Draco... but Tunchi is just what he says about everybody else... a bunch of nonsensical gibberish... lets not forget this guy said it doesn't matter what anyone else says.... he isn't changing his mind.. Someone sell this guy a bridge.....
You notice they LOVE using the Golden State win as their championship game and favorite example? My god IT WAS ONE GAME, shit i hate to say it but it was probably a LUCKY WIN we spent our time during the all star break practicing while the whole golden state squad was busy IN TORONTO. In fact instead of keeping it competitive the next time we faced them we get BLOWN OUT by them. If thats not an indication of reality then i dont know what is THIS SEASON NEVERTHELESS HAS BEEN A SUCCESS ALREADY. Now lets keep our asset and make our summer much easier to take the next step..
Okay, let's say the Blazers follow your reasoning and tank their way into the lottery. Let's say that nets them the 12th pick and they get a player the quality of a rookie Aminu. Is that asset worth more than the veteran free agent big man who decides to sign here next summer because he thinks the Blazers are a playoff team? Your asset is 3-4 years away from being halfway worth a damn. In your scenario, the Blazers most likely lose their first round pick next year and lose that asset. I guess I just don't see any realistic chance that the player that the Blazers pass on in this year's draft is such a huge asset that it would be a major detriment to the team's future. I think not enticing a quality free agent here next summer would be a much more significant blow.
Well where ppl forget is we dont have to select a player with that pick at the same time Id rather whatever small percentage it is put our name in the hat for the top 3 pick then take the LESSER ODDS of winning in the playoffs. Say we trade the pick we get this year with Meyers that might net us a solid rotational player for our real window opening next year. Have you seen Brandon Ingram this year? He would be perfect as a 4 for us.
Thank you... couldn't have said it better, but then some people around here have blinders on and OPENLY admit they wont listen to anyone else.. so why bother? Should just lock this thread and ignore that poster.... Ill take it a step further now... Other than I know it would be bad for the Blazers.. I hope Tunchis wants come true, so he can bitch next year about how our draft pick isnt doing anything to make this team better... because he IS BEING SENT TO THE D LEAGUE!!!!.....
Well where YOU seem to forget, is unless WE DRAFT with the pick this year... we have next years pick to do exactly what you want.. .how are you not able to grasp that??????
I have to ask...Are you on prescriptions, or how old are you??? We can take next years pick and do exactly what you want.... man.... take the fucking blinders off and pay attention.....
You completely missed what he was talking about. I mean, it's simple logic. And yet you repeatedly miss it. This isn't about someone changing your point of view, this is about you clearly not understanding a basic concept.
Of course you wouldn't, it wasn't in a negative thread. Read threads, you'll see where it comes from.
