I won't chill out. Part of being a fanatic is irrational negativity after losses and unrealistic expectations after wins. We lost recently. Time to get pissed. The coach makes terrible playing time decisions. Lillard is a horrible defender. We have no third option. This team might get swept. We have no draft pick. We have cap space in the worst offseason for cap space ever. Meyers Leonard sucks. We win a few and this will be the team nobody wants to play. We have young players improving. Dame is an MVP candidate player. The future is bright. This style of basketball is fun to watch. We will likely win more next year. National insiders are saying "agents of free agents are noticing us". Meyers Leonard sucks.
What I lve aboutthis is that in both the optimist and pescimist side... Meyers sucks!!! HAHAHAHA Now back off my man!!!!
What "young" guys are you refering to? Davis and Aminu are vets. Leonard and Harkless are in their 4th year. Plums is one of those guys who has been maximizing his game since high school. Do you *honestly* believe any of those guys is suddenly going to make some huge leap forward? As for Noah....if the kid was inconsistent with moments of brilliance, I would get your point. Instead, he is very consistently "meh." If he played for another team, you wouldn't even know his name. He would just be another faceless journeyman. As for why they need to be replaced for the team to improve - I am quite truthfully baffled by the question! You can't move forward and stand still and the same time.
Man... why do we only look at the surface? Dig bro... dig. Okay to break your ramble down.... Davis has bounced around and has had 11 coaches in 4 years.. This is his first "Home" so yes I expect him to improve both in gelling with the team and improve his own shot. Aminu is the one guy who is probably almost at his peak, though I think he can improve his handles a bit if he works on it... again he is still YOUNG age wise. Now here is where you lost me...Harkless has barely had real playing time in the NBA, so yes I expect him to get better. He is 22. He has never had any real consistency. Plums has greart handles and ive seen significant improvement in his ft alone. I think he can improv his 12 foot jumper too., so yes.. more improvemant can be had. Vonleh is as raw as raw gets... he has nothing but improvement to make and I see it happening and I see his confidence growing. No one said he would grow into an all star in one year. He had a moment of brilliance last night, but Im sure your blinders were on to that. So now lets get down to the brass tacks.. The conflict of opinion isnt whether the team needs to improve. I think everyone member here believes we need to improve. The conflict is who thinks we can improve within and who thinks we have reached our peak and need to replace to improve. Honestly, I think we need a little of both, but in no way do I want to replace Noahs potential.. not now anyhow. The problem I have and is frustrating me is that those that say we need to improve dont seem to think our current roster can improve... or have not made any statements of such. You know what? Michael Jordan needed to improve his mid range shot in order to be better but the bulls didnt get rid of him. He developed it over the first 4 years of his career... then developed a 3 pt shot the last 6 years of his career. Im quite baffled by your assumption that we cant improve anymore.. Your arguement has huge holes and is shallower than the kiddy pool. If your going to bring up descriptions of a players history, be accurate and complete. Don't just say he has been in the league 4 years so he is a vet. That's just foolish thinking.... A guy can ride the bench for a decade and never see the court... that makes him a vet???? come on.... be real with what your argueing or take that shit back to the crap station. I will end this post reffering back to your first statement. Who is young on this team? Well considering we have the second youngest roster in the league and if you remove Kaman we have the youngest... I would say damn near everyone on the team.....
Well it seems many around here forget about our wins and dwell on our losses, so I was focusing on our three losses to the best three teams in the league, two of which are having historic seasons. No they weren't in a row, but there were within the last 2 weeks. But I know you know what i'm talking about. If ANYONE here knows what i'm talking about I would expect it to be you my Homer brother!!!
I'll own part of that. I haven't referred to him as a 'chucker' but have commented on the big differences between #LillardTime and non-Lillard time. One is Lights Out but combined with the other results in 42% shooting. I've gone into quite a bit of depth as to what can help with that but can't find it on here....maybe it was another forum or a podcast. Regardless, just coming down and launching when it's not #LillardTime would be a start. However, when he is on fire, heat check until the run is over by all means.
Not trying to call anyone out, just an overall opinion based on what I read as a whole. and for the record, I dont disagree, but I dont want to beat it to death until I have an answer for it.. Right now I dont. I want our best shooter shooting the ball even if he is slumping or not in lillard time. Id much rather have Dame chucking, than AMinu ( though he is very streaky and had a great outside shot last night) I guess my point overall is im trying to get people to stop bashing without bringing answers. Don't come to the table with the problem... we all know what they are.. .come to the table with solutions.. but realistic ones that the Blazers organization might actually agree with. I've been guilty of this in the past, thought I may not have posted it. I couldn't stand the Jail Blazers, but did I think of solutions? NO.. I just kept on hating and disssecting... Though we dont seem to disagree more than agree with how we think the team should handle the situation,... man I love argueing with you! lol
Rather than a lengthy diatribe, I will just say this: you are taking what I consider a negative and are trying to turn it into a positive. Harkless has been in the league 4 years without getting regular playing time? That isn't an excuse to think he is a future star - that is a reason to believe he isn't very good! Do you honestly think teams draft guys like Harkless and Leonard and then deliberately hold them back? Do you honestly think their coaches didn't want them to succeed and gave them every chance to do so? Their failures are their own. This is the Bayless situation all over again. Many Blazer fans thought Bayless was a future stud and couldn't figure out why Nate wouldn't give him more PT. Then he got traded and we saw why - he wasn't very good. Guys get stuck on the bench or bounce from team to team for a reason. Nate wasn't an idiot. Stotts isn't an idiot. Their prior coaches weren't idiots. These guys just aren't that special.
